Clinton Soccer Club exten-
ded their unbeaten record to
three games when they
travelled to Goderich on Sun,
Stay and defeated the much
vaunted Goderich United by a
score of 3-2. •
Goderich United unbeaten
this season and never before by
Clinton in three seasons, came
out showing great confidence
and within 30 seconds of the
start scored a'lovely goal when
Refflinghaus caught Clinton
standing still and pushed a
long pass through to Wedlock
who outsnipped the Clinton
defence and gave goalie Derwin
Carter no chance on his low
hand drive to the 'right hand
corner of the net.
Clinton then came to life and
within minutes of Goderich's
goal, Brian Jewitt shot for the
top left hand corner. Goderich
goalie Moller could only palm
the ball which went straight to
Charlie Lipp who made no
mistake in putting the ball
away tying the game at one
goal each.
Clinton kept pressing and
consistently beat the Goderich
players to the ball,
' Clinton's Gord Riley
followed instructions and com-
pletely, obliterated "danger
man" Refflinghaus who was
never in the game after his ef-
fort in the first 30 seconds.
Midway through the first
half Brian Jewitt's many ef-
forts were rewarded when he
scored to make it 2-1 for Clin-
