ThliveW list Wednesday '
broke into the Korner
Recreation on Isaac Street
police reported, and stole bet-
ween $20 and $30 and some
snuff.
They gained entry by
throiving a cement block
through the front window of
the pool room. They found the
hiding place for the keys to the
cash box, found the cash box,
opened it and made off with the
money through a back en-
trance. Police have several
solid clues in the case, but have
made no arrests.
Clinton police also reported
that a man was arrested at last
Friday night's hockey game
and charged with causing a
disturbance. Police did not
release the man's name.
An accident last Saturday
night caused about $1',100
damage .when a car driven by
David R. Doughty of Goderich
struck a parked car on Princess
Street East. The parked car
was owned by Catherine.
Howard of East Street, Clinton.
Police say charges are pending.'
Chief Westlake also reported
that Douglas Rielly, a
probationary constable, started
work on March 1. Mr. Rielly is
married and moves to Clinton

Ontario Hydro will begin a
series of meetings. later this
year with members of the
public in the lower Lake Huron
area with a view to their par-
ticipation in the choice of the
site for a new electrical energy
centre.
The meetings likely will
begin in late spring or the sum-
mer it was announced Monday,
February 25. Following these
meetings the site will' be
chosen.
The new energy centre would
be the site of one or more ther-
mal-electric generating
stations. The decision as to the
type of station will be decided
later.
The new station, or stations,
"will help to balance the
generation for the province. In
eastern Ontario five or six
stations, located at Lennox,
Pickering, Bowmanville and
Wesleyville are in various,
stages of construction or recen-
tly completed.
"We now will need to
balance this generation with
comparable stations in the
western part of the province," a
hydro spokesman said.
Power from the new Lake
Huron plant will be needed by
the mid 1980's.
Stations now under construc-
tion in various stages of
development in south western
Ontario include two Nuclear
Stations at Bruce and two coal
fired stations at Nanticoke on
Lake Erie.
