Livestock for the week ending July
18 were 1,918 head of cattle, 475
lambs and goats. On Tuesday fed
steers and heifers sold on a steady
market. Choice steers and heifers
sold $97 to $101 with sales to $105.
Second cut sold $94 to $97. Cows
sold on a steady market. On
Thursday veal sold steady on a good
active trade. Lambs sold $10 to $15
lower. Sheep and goats sold on a
steady market. On Friday calves and
yearlings sold on a good strong
active trade.
There were 417 steers on offer.

OPP are investigating a break in
which occurred in Huron East,
sometime between Thursday, July
17 and Saturday, July 19.
Police say the suspect(s) entered a
shed at a farm property on Sawmill
Road and removed several hand
tools.
There is only a shed and a pig
barn on the property.
The suspect(s) entered through a
small window on the south east
corner of the shed.
Stolen were: a Stihl chainsaw -
20 " bar, Dewalt four-pack cordless
drill and saw set, Dewalt cordless
grinder, Dewalt cordless impact set,
Dewalt cordless hammerdrill, 24-
volt cordless heavy duty
hammerdrill and bits, 2.5-ton
Mastercraft floor jack, chop saw -
electric style for a work bench and a
general purpose electric hand
grinder with cord.
The total value of the loss is
estimated at $3,000.
