Brussels Curling Club held its
annual meeting on Monday, March
17.
Secretary-treasurer Susan
Alexander read the minutes of the
2007 annual meeting. The
treasurer’s report was read.
President Steve Knight thanked
everyone for their support during the
past year.
The election of officers for 2008-
09 was held. They are: past
president, Steve Knight; president,
Joe Ryan; first vice-president,
Sandra Josling; second vice-
president, Murray Pepper; secretary-
treasurer, Susan Alexander; draw
committee, Brenda McIntosh, Steve
Steiss and Brian Warwick; press
reporter, Janis Bray and ice
committee, Merv Bauer.
The ice leveller will not be
purchased as it will not work with
the existing equipment.
Incoming president Joe Ryan
thanked Knight for the past year.

Another season ends
for Brussels curlers
Winning in Wingham
On Sunday, March 30 the winners of the Friday night mixed
curling league played the winners of the Thursday night
family league in the annual competition for the Casemore
Cup at the Wingham Golf and Curling Club. The Friday
night league, consisting of, from left, Rita Potter, Mike
Cottrill, Bill McDonald and Jenny Hogervorst, came away
