The UCW monthly meeting
is on Thursday, March 27 at
2 p.m.
The call to worship was read
responsively and was followed by
the opening prayer, the first hymn
Jesus Christ is Risen Today and the
new Creed.
The choir sang the anthem, The
Joyful Eastertide.
The children’s hymn, Jesus Keep
Me Near the Cross, was sung.
Instead of a children’s story Sandy
had them gather around the Bible
purchased by the memorial fund to
be placed on the pulpit. The elders
were asked to join the children in the
dedication.
Everyone sang The Lord’s Prayer
and did the actions. Bryce Glousher
carried the lit candle as the children
went downstairs for their time of
worship and fellowship.
Psalm 116 was read responsively.
The scripture reading was from John
20: 1-18.
Sandy read the eyewitness account
of Mary Magdalene based on the
book, Witness the Passion by
Richard Exley.

says Govier.
“We don’t know what exactly we
can do, we make sure that there isn’t
any money in the booth after we
close,” she said.
“There isn’t much we can do tothis booth, and we definitely don’twant to do something drastic thatmight scare someone into doingsomething extreme.”While the suspects remain incustody, the investigation isongoing. The Huron OPP Crime
Unit is still asking anyone who may
have witnessed these events to

It was not a good weekend for
Blyth.
Starting with an armed robbery at
Radford Fuels on Thursday evening
(see front page), three separate
break-and-enters at Blyth churches,
Christian Reformed Church, United
Church and Anglican Church were
discovered early Monday morning.
All three robberies took place
sometime between March 23 at 9
p.m. and March 24 at 6 a.m.
A tall, skinny, white male was
observed by a witness at
approximately 5:30 a.m. acting
suspiciously around one of the
churches. The witness observed the
suspect leaving a short time later. He
was driving a mid-to-late 90s four-
door Oldsmobile 98. It had square
taillights and was tan/grey in colour.
All three churches sustained
damage to windows and doors when
the suspect gained entry.
The first of the break-ins was
discovered by a snowplow operator
who noticed one of the windows of
the Blyth Christian Reformed
Church pushed in said Const. Joanna
Van Mierlo of the OPP.
Nothing was taken from the
Christian Reformed Church said
Pastor John Kuperus, but he called
the incident a “violation.”
At Trinity Anglican Church there
was nothing taken that was
immediately observed said church
warden John Nesbit.
However, according to Sharon
Bromley, who was at Blyth United
Church when the police arrived
Monday morning, there were two
turkeys and one roast beef missing.
The OPP are investigating, anyone
with information should contact
Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477
or the Huron OPP at 1-888-310-
1122.
