THE CITIZEN, THURSDAY, MARCH 20, 2008.EDWARD EASTMr. Edward “Ted” East of Guelph,formerly of Auburn and Blyth,passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, March 16, 2008. He was in his 84th year. Ted was the beloved husband for 60 years of Marjorie (McVittie) East. He was the loving father of Brenda (Bruce) Elliott and Karen (John) Robertson, all of Guelph. He was the dear grandfather of Jenny, James, Daniel and Gregory Eliott, Michael, Peter and Jeffery Robertson. His parents Annie and Charles East and one brother William East predeceased him. Friends and family were received at the Falconer Funeral Homes Ltd. - Blyth Visitation Centre, 407 Queen St. on Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. and on Thursday, from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2:30 p.m. A Masonic service will be held by the Blyth Lodge A.F. & A.M. No. 303 at 9 p.m. Wednesday. Cremation will take place with interment of ashes at Clinton Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. JAMES ARNOLD GOLLEY Mr. James Golley of Wingham, formerly of Morris Twp. passed away at Wingham and District Hospital on Monday, March 17, 2008. He was 83. Mr. Golley was the beloved husband of the former MildredSouch. He was the dear father ofBarry and Fran Golley of RR4,Wingham and grandfather of Debbie and Tim Penner of Alvinston and Michael and Becky Golley of Bluevale. He was the great- grandfather of Jordan and Mason Penner and Garrett and Morgan Golley and brother of Dorothy Thornton of RR1, Bluevale, Grace Leeson of South Baymouth and Glenn and Norma Golley of RR4, Wingham. Mr. Golley was predeceased by his parents Robert and Ida (Abraham) Golley and his brother Clarence Golley. Visitation was at McBurney Funeral Home, Wingham on Tuesday from 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. The funeral service was held at the funeral home chapel on Wednesday at 11 a.m. Rev. Wayne B. Beamer officiated. Interment will be in Wingham Cemetery. Memorial donations to a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. He was in his 75th year. Cremation has taken place. He is survived by his children Maurice of Mississauga, Debbie (Pierce) of London, Michael of Florida, Brenda of St. Thomas andtheir families. He was thegrandfather of Jennifer, Brendan,Tara, Cory, Victor and Bryce. He was the brother and brother-in-law of Bill and Tonia Hull of Crediton, Lawrence and Anne Edgar of Listowel, Marion Knox of Mitchell and Charlie and Dorothy Hull of Welland. He was predeceased by his parents Arthur Hull and Mary (McNeil) Hull and by three sisters Elaine (Jacklin), Jean Hull and Juneve (Flood). He will also be remembered by his beloved horse Hawaiian Typhoon. “There is something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a man.” ROLLIE MARKS Rollie Marks, formerly of Belgrave, passed away at Huronlea Home for the Aged, Brussels, on Sunday, March 16, 2008. Born in Morris Twp. on Jan. 9, 1907, Rollie was in his 102nd year. Rollie was the beloved husband of the late Clara (Willoughby) Marks. He was the dear father of Shirley Hopper and husband Bob of Brussels, Helen Wallace and husband Bev of Londesborough and Robert Marks and wife Agnes of Belgrave. Rollie was also loved by his many grandchildren, great- grandchildren and great-great- grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter Agnes Carter, granddaughter Rosemary Carter and his five brothers. Friends were received by the family from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.Tuesday from the SchimanskiFamily Funeral Home where thefuneral service was conducted Wednesday, March 19 at 2 p.m. with Major Ken Kimberley of the Salvation Army officiating. Carrying floral tributes were Annette Ward, Jennie Hopper, Tara Anderson, and Susan Procter. Pallbearers were Ronnie Carter, Lloyd Carter, Rollie Hopkins, Richard Hopkins, Mark Wallace, and Terry Marks. Spring interment will be in Brussels Cemetery. He was in his 77th year. Mr. Penfound was the beloved husband of Margaret (Fremlin) Penfound. He was the loving father of Michael Penfound of Toronto, Kathy and John Young of Goderich, Ruthann and Steven O’Connell of Bayfield, and Robert Penfound of England. He was the cherished grandfather of Abria, Bronwen, and Kimbra Young. He was the dear brother of Lloyd and Vera Penfound of RR1, Auburn and Mervyn and Marilyn Penfound of Stettler, Alberta. Mr. Penfound was predeceased byhis brother Elgin Penfound in 2007and by his sister-in-law JoyPenfound in 2007. Pallbearers were Bev Bromley,Andy Riley, Daryl Ball, Kevin Wright, Joe Jankowski and Bill Farnell. Spring interment is in Ball’s Cemetery, Hullett.
