her 73rd year.
She was the beloved wife of the
late Kenneth L. Rhynard who
predeceased her in 2001. She was
the loving mother and mother-in-law
of Ron Langille of Seaforth, Dianne
and Brian Mason of Blyth, Evelyn
and Jerry Cook of Stratford, Bill and
Kathy Rhynard and Bob and Sue
Rhynard, all of Clinton. She was the
cherished Nanny to 32 grandchildren
and 15 great-grandchildren. She was
the dear sister of Dianne and Jill
Yates of Brantford and Robert
Keddy of Alberta.
One son, Kevin Rhynard, two
grandchildren and her friend Ron
Stokes predeceased her.
At Dorothy’s request, cremation
has taken place.
Visitation was at the Falconer
Funeral Homes Ltd., ClintonChapel, 153 High St., Clinton onWednesday, Jan. 2 from 10 a.m. untilthe time of the memorial service at11 a.m.Spring interment of ashes will be
at Clinton Cemetery.
Donations to the Heart and Stroke
Foundation, Canadian Diabetes
Association or to the Canadian
Cancer Society would be
appreciated as expressions of
sympathy.
WILSON JAMES THORNTON
Wilson James Thornton, resident
and farmer of Morris Twp. for many
years, passed away peacefully in
Seaforth Hospital, Dec. 18, 2007 in
his 93rd year.
Wilson leaves to mourn his
passing, his wife of 64 years, the
former Dorothy Golley and four
children, Julia and John Madill,
Toronto; Jill and Peter Carpenter,
Toronto; Jeff and Betty Thornton,
Windsor, and Cindy and Ray
Nicholson, Elmira. Lovinggrandchildren who will miss theirgrandfather are James and AngelThornton, Windsor, Nathan andCarrie Thornton, Windsor, NicholasCarpenter, Toronto, Victoria
Nicholson and Alexandra Nicholson,
Elmira and great-grandson Joshua
James Thornton, Windsor.
Wilson was keenly interested in
reading and history during his life
and as a result he and Dorothy spent
their retirement years travelling to
many parts of the world. Spain was
their winter destination for 20
winters where they entertained
family and friends.
In later years Wilson spent his
summers caring for his flowers and
shrubs and enjoying the
neighbourhood where he had grown
up.
Visitation was held at the
McBurney Funeral Home, Wingham
on Thursday, Dec. 20 from 2 - 4 p.m.
and 7 - 9 p.m. The funeral service
was held at the funeral chapel on
Friday at 11 a.m. Rev Sandra Yuleofficiated.Memorial donations to HuronPerth Lung Association or theCanadian Cancer Society would beappreciated as expressions of
sympathy.
