The Colts started out last week's action by dropping a 7,8 decision to the Angels. The loss Vaulted the Angels into first place. Paul Bartliff supplied the big blow in a losing cause by belting a three run homer in the eighth inning to tie the game 6-6. Angels by a score of 15-1. The Colts pounded out 14 hits in coasting to their victory. On Sunday evening the Colts were back on the hitting trails by pounding out 15 hits and behind the excellent pitching of Juvenile, Danny Colquhoun, defeated the Thorndale Angels 13-4, Two homeruns highlighted the contest. Hans Leppington hit a 400 foot homerun over the center field fence in the first in- ning to put the Colts in front 3- 0. They were never headed af- ter that tremendous blast. On the fifth inning Butch Fleet hit a 350 foot homer over the left field fence with one runner aboard. Danny Colquhoun struckout eight batters for his first pitching victory, in the in- termediate ranks. Hans Leppington led the Colts attack with four hits from four at bats. Hans had a homer and three singles. Stew Mustard and Butch Fleet each collected three hits. Single hits were gathered by Larry Pickett, Brad Dutot, Don Bartliff and Danny Colquhoun. The Clinton Bantam Girls have won two games out of five. The winning games were in Clinton, one against Brodhagen with the score 18- 16, the other game against Brussels 29-15. The three games were lost against Rostock and Tavistock (twice). Last Tuesday they ham- mered a winning score of 29-15 with two home runs hit by Marlene. Dale and Patricia Harris. The winning pitcher was Pat Harris with the help of Laurie Keys pitching a few in- nings. Last Thursday they. travelled to Tavistock and lost a hard effort from the team's behalf. The losing score was 16-$. On Wednesday the girls Juveniles win BY VAUN The Clinton Juveniles won their seventh straight game last Thursday night as they beat Goderich by a score of 6-3. Goderich started the scoring with a run in the third and another in the fourth innings. Clinton soon got the lead as Ray Burns slammed a three run homer over the left field fence. travel to Brodhagen so come and give them your support. Clinton Soccer Club travelled to London last Sunday and tied London Carnival, 2-2 in a third Division game. Carnival took an easy lead on a misfortunate play by Clin- ton goalkeeper Derwin Carter who otherwise turned in an ex- cellent game in only his second turn in the nets, Clinton equalised the score after an individual effort by Graham Yeats, Carnival again took the lead a few minute s before half time on a goal that looked offside to everyone except the referee, The second half started with Clinton doing all the pressing and after a few good moves their efforts were rewarded with a beautiful goal by Charlie Lipp. Despite 90° temperatures on Sunday, July 8, Varna's Hully- Gully attracted a good crowd of spectators and 103 entries in the combination motorcycle moto cross and mini-bike races. Winners in the mini-bike classes were: Mini-Bike A (0-50 CC): pee wee, Brad Darling; bantam, Barry Widdeman; midget, Gary Koehler, Mini-Bike B (51-75 CC): pee wee, Charles Collins; bantam, Fred Van Osch; midget, Rick Roesler.
