A report from the new4lettdi
The March meeting of the
Huron County Junior Farmers
was held on Wednesday, March
28 at the OMAF offices at Clin-
ton.
The meeting was chaired by
president, Faye Ribey. Gwen
Bosman read the minutes of
the previous meeting.
A bill for $21 was submitted
for sponsorship of the 4-H
Tractor Club.
Glen McNeil gave a report of
the annual meeting and con-
ference held at the Inn on the

Holmesville School have been

Everybody had eight choices
but crafts were the main choice.
The projects were in many
. different forms but they were
mostly string and percussion
but there turned out to be some

and 3 decoration bells that
made attractive music.
The grades 7 and 8 students
are new studying the different

Formal plans were then
discussed. Ticket price for the
formal will be $5.00 per couple.
Two eamily trios assisted
with the music for Sunday
evening's Christian Reform
song service. Mrs. Vantlerwaal
and daughters, Arlene and
Gail, Mrs. Amsing, Coby and
Andri sang several numbers.
Mr. Aeire VanDerEnde led the
service with the devotional
period taken by Rev, Beukema,
Mrs. Mary Willis of Seaforth
was welcomed to the Home by
the residents at Monday after-
noon's get-together. Marie
Flynn joined the regulars, Mrs,
Mary Taylor, Norman Speir
and Jerry Collins, to provide
the music for the occasion.
Volunteers from the Clinton
Christian Reform Church were
on hand to assist with the ac-
tivities and wheel chairs. There
was a good attendance at the
Annual Blossom Tea and Craft
UCW holds
Mrs. Carman McPherson
presided for the opening of the
May meeting of the Afternoon
Unit of Ontario Street U.C,W.
A hymn was sung, after
which Mrs. Brock Olde who,
with her husband, had recently
taken an extensive trip by air to
the South Pacific, including
Fiji, New Zealnd, Australia,
Singapore, Bangkok, and Hong
Kong, showed their pictures
which were very educational
and entertaining. Her commen-
tary was excellent and the pic-
tures were much enjoyed by
all present.
Mrs. George Potter had
charge of the devotional period,
assisted by Mrs. Gordon
Richardson arid Mrs. Mary
sale on Wednesday afternoon
sponsored by the Hpronview
Auxiliary,
The Huronia Male Chorus
led by Mrs. Caffrey, with piano-
accompaniment by Mrs.
Kleninstiver, provided the
Family Night program. The
Chorus with members from.
Exeter, Hensall, Zurich, Grand
Bend and Dashwood areas
presented part of the program,
They are preparing for the
Exeter Centennial in July, Mrs.
Hilda Finkbeiner expressed the
appreciation of the residents
for the enjoyable program.
The Provincial Government
has declared June 17-23 as
Senior Citizens' Week and
plans are being made to hold
open house at the Home during
that Week,

an informative study on the
Gospel of St. Luke,
Mrs. Harvey Johnston con-
ducted the business session and
the roll call was answered by
31 members, Forty-six hospital
and 38 home calls were made
during April. Final
arrangements were made for
our morning Coffee Party on
Thursday, May 17th at 9:30
a.m. A sale of home baking and
craft goods will also be held.
Miss Dorothy Marquis and
Mrs. Ernie Crich will go to
Alma College as delegates in
August.
The next meeting will be
held on June 5th, Mrs. Frank
McGregor's group in charge.

Keith Williamson gave a
report on the Spring Com-
petitions held at Ottawa on
April 7. The zone placed first
among the seven zones of On-
tario and the mixed curling
team and basketball players
can be congratulated for the
fine showing they made for
Huron county.
It was suggested that the
clubs change the date of their
regular June Meeting so that it
will be held when the exchange
visitor from Northern Ireland
is here. She will be with the
Clinton Club from June 8 to
June 15, and with the Seaforth
Club from June 15 to June 22.
The draw committee repor-
ted that the tickets on the meat
draw are ready, This year's
prizes are ; first, 50 lbs. of beef;
second, 25 lbs. of ham; third, 10
lbs. of turkey.
The ticket prices are 50c each

Zone 7 attended.
Keith Williamson reported
on the Zone meeting which was
held at the Toronto Con-
ference. A zone executive has
been set up. It was decided at
the meeting that the county
president, provincial director
and two other persons
represent the county at zone
meetings. The other two per-
sons from Huron County will
be the club vice-presidents
and/or the associate provincial
director.
