previous 9 - 3 defeat to Mit-
chell, the Fish and Parne.tian-
tams put it all together last
Wednesday in Seaforth and
Thursday again in Mitchell to
capture overtime victories both
nights and the championship,
In Seaforth on Wednesday
April 11, the tutors looked
bleak for the local squad as
they fell behind 4 - 1 after the
first period. Neil Colquhoun got
the only Clinton goal of the
period, After two periods of
play, the score looked more
respectable as Mitchell con-
tinued to lead 5 - 3. Colquhoun
scored his second of the game
from Paul Priestap and Dave
Counter while Dave Clynick
scored unassisted.
At 1:55 of the third period,
Counter brought Clinton within
one with the assist going to
Priestap and Colquhoun. Coun-
ter scored again at 8:55 of the
period to tie the game 5 - 5.
Both teams fought hard to
score , the winner but it was to
no avail as it was to be decided
in over time.
Clinton struck early in the 10
minute overtime period as
Colquhoun scored from
Priestap at 1:26, This goal
seemed to hurt the morale of
the Mitchell team as Clinton •
scored two more unanswered
goals to take the game 8 - 5 and
force the series decider the next

night in Mitchell. Priestap from.
Counter and again Priestap
from Colquhoun and Counter
rounded opt the scoring.
The deciding game played in
Mitchell the following night,
began like the overtime ended
the night before, as Colquhoun
scored from Priestap at the 30
second mark of the opening
period. Counter also assisted
on the play. Priestap scored
from Colquhoun at the 1:60
mark to put Clinton out in
front - 0.
Mitchell was not giving up
however as they scored with
10;20 of the first period gone.
Only one goal was scored in the
second period as Mitchell tied
the game 2 - 2.
The third period was wide
open hockey as both teams
were out to score goals and not
be overly defensive. Mitchell
came opt hustling and took a 3
- 2 lead at 3:17 of the period.
Clinton not to be denied came
back with three straight goals,
to take a 5 - 3 lead. Priestap
scored at 5:08 unassisted;
Clynick tallied at 5:24
unassisted and again Clynick
from Rob Heard it 6;30 to take
what looked like a comfortable
lead.
Mitchell closed the margin to
one at 7:42 of the period and
tied the game at 15:21. The 5 -
5 score held up until the end of
regulation time and another
overtime was necessary.
The overtime provided more
thrilling hockey by these two
evenly matched clubs with both
having near misses around
each other's nets. At 8:42 of the
extra period,. Archibald proved
to be "Johnny on the spot", as
he picked up the puck when
returning from a penalty and
moved to the edge of the circle
and fired a 40 foot drive past
the Mitchell goaltender. The
assist on the winner went to
Priestap who made the long
pass to Archibald.
An interesting evening is
planned for those who attend
the annual educational dinner
meeting of the Huron-Perth TB
and Respiratory Disease
Association, which this year is
being held in Egmondville
United Church, Egmondville,
Ontario, on Wednesday, May 2,
1973, at 6:30 p.m.
' The speaker will be A. Les:

sultant with the Ontario TBRD
Association in Toronto. Along
with Mr. McDonald's presen-
tation, the program will include
"Christmas Seals in Action" by
a small group of children from
the Asthmatic Conditioning
Class presently in progress.
The interesting meeting will
hear reports and see what
Christmas Seal dollars are
doing.
Mitchell went all out and
pulled their goaltender but the
move backfired as Priestap
scored the insurance goal into
the empty net at 9:10 of the
overtime. Colquhoun picked up
the assist qn the goal, ,
These two consecutive vice
tories over their arch rivals felt
extra good to the players as
Mitchell dominated Clinton all
season winning six, tying one
and losing once in eight
meetings with the local boys.

W.O.A.A,
Wayne Smith of Hensall,
Zone convener presented the
Tom Phillips Trophy to the
Clinton team after the deciding
game. Mr. Smith stated that he
would very much like to see the
new league become a reality.
The 17 players who con.
prised the Bantams displayed
throughout the season a high
degree of dedication to the
game, as well as good
sportsmanship and gen-
tlemanly conduct on and off the
ice.
They played 41 games from
their first on November 18 until
April 12, Absentees were rare
and then only due to injury or
illness.
This applied as well to the
nearly 20 practice sessions and
they were the regular par-
ticipants in their house league
for approximately 15 games
during the same period
A great deal of the credit for
this dedication goes to their
parents who supported and
transported them all over
Western Ontario and in this
way discovered that there is no
great generation gap if one
chooses to close it.
Tickets are $2,50 and may be
obtained from 121 Wellington

representative.
