Elliott was in charge of this meeting in the absence of Mrs. 0. Popp. The roll call was answered by the paying of fees for the coming year. ' A Women's Institute workshop is to be held at Auburn hall on March 29th, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mem- bers to take a box lunch. Mrs. Elliott extended a note of thanks to all members helping in any way with the luncheon for the members of the Executive of the London Area Convention when they held their meeting in Clinton on March 14th. Quite a number of the mem- bers were able to attend the Department of Agriculture and Food demonstration, "Calorie Count Down", held in Ontario St. Church. Mrs. E. Radford was appoin- On March 21 the Clinton Figure Skating Club hosted a "Canadian Figure Skating. Association Test Day". Skaters from Clinton, Mitchell, Blyth and Grand Bend took part. This followed with a film on the "Calgary Stampede". Mr. McGregor ran the projector for this film. It showed the preparation for this big event from polishing up their equip- ment to rounding up the un- broken horses and getting them to their quarters at Calgary. Visitors last week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred McClymont were Mrs. Doug Robinson, Lorrie, Cathy and Carol of Willowdale and Michael and Shannon McClymont of Guelph. The District Lodge of South Huron met in the local Orange hall last Tuesday evening with a good representive from the various lodges with District Master Ivan McClymont presiding. During the evening the Royal Blue Degree was exemplified for several can- didates. Ross Lovett, repoiting on en- tertainment plans for the Spring Fair, stated it is hoped the Allan Sisters from the Tommy Hunter Show will be available for the grandstand show on the Saturday night. Robert Gibbings is to see whether arrangements can be made to have the Passe Muraille Theatre players come to the Central Huron Secon- dary School auditorium April 25 and May 13. The Hell Drivers will be coming to Clinton in August with both the Kinsmen and the Society sharing expenses and profits, At the next meeting on April 12 president Harold Lobb will present an estimate of the cost of a platform in front of the grandstand, The "Queen of the Furrow" is to be contacted to see if she is available to open the fair on June 2 and Elgin Thompson said if space is available he would like to see the Bayfield- Ausable Conservation Authority with an exhibit. A committee comprised of Ken Flett, Ross Lovett, Harold Lobb, Elgin Thompson and William Flynn is to investigate the possibility of having Bingo, a Beer Garden and Sidewalk Sales on the Friday and Satur- day of the fair. Mrs. Elgin Thompson will convene the baby show and Rathwell's Auction Service will donate the sound system. William Flynn , Ross Lovett and Robert Gibbings will at- tend the meeting on April 4 regarding the Clinton Centen- nial.
