W. “Danny” Colquhoiun has (announced the .formation of the Colquhoun Agency, former­ ly K. W. Colquhoun Insurance and Real Estate, and states that the agency i!s now capable of handling all (types of itnsur- ' ance, real estate, mortgages and investments. Mr. Colquhoun purchased the general insurance business' of H. E. Rorke, which wias started in the early 1920’is; in January, 1949, 'and continued the busin­ ess in the Royal Bank bulildling until moving t.o the presient lo­ cation at 14 Isaac Street .in April, 1957. He was licensed to sell real estate in 1954. “Danny” began his career with the Clinton branch of the Royal Bank in 1939 and with time out for war service in the RCAF from 1941 to 1945, he returned to Clinton and contin­ ued in the bank as (accountant until purchasing the insurance business. H. E. “Hal” Hartley, a mem­ ber of the Colquhoun Agency, was bom and (educated in St. Catharines. He sierved as a rad'air instructor at RCAF Sta­ tion Clinton from 1942 until 1944. After returning from overseas he married '.the farmer Erma Hale of Clinton in 1946. They have one daughter,' Chris­ tine, age 13.' In November 1946 “Hal” pur­ chased th'e Clinton Bowling Alley and operated1 it until 1953, when he joined (Canada Life As­ surance Company 'and will con­ tinue to represent the company. Mr. Hartley .is a graduate of McMaster Qualification course in general insurance, May, 1966 ■and is now licensed to s/eHil oar. fide, liability, etc. He Served on Clinton Town Council in 1950 and 1951, is a past presid'etpit of Clinton Dis­ trict Chamfber of Commerce, and is currently serving as an elder tn Wiesley-Wiiillis United Church where he was a former chairman of stewards. “Hal" served on Clinton Pub­ lic Utilities Commission for the past 11 years and has been Chairman of pUC since July 1965. Elected' a (director of Grand Valley Ontario Munici­ pal Electric Association for 1965 and 1966, he ills' chairman of convention committee hold­ ing ithdii’ first hydro convention at Elm Haven Motor Hotel in Clinton on September 21st this year. Mr. Hartley is a member Of Clinton Legion Branch No. 140, and Clinton Lodge IOOF. John, Wise started with K. W. Colquhoun Insurance and Real Estate in December, 1962 and passed 'the Insurance Qualifica­ tion Course at McMaster Uni­ versity, Hamilton, receiving his general insurance licence in June, 1963. He attended an ad1- vanced automobile insurance course at the University of Ot­ tawa in June, 1964, Born and raised on a farm in Goderich Township, John at­ tended S'S 11, Goderich Town­ ship school, CDCI and H. B. Beal Technical School, London. He married the former Gayle Murray, of Clinton, in 1958 and they live at 115 John St., with their son Gregory and daughter Lori. John worked at McPherson Bros, garage and the Clinton PUC prior to joining the Coil- quhoun Agency. He is currently the secretary of 'the Clinton Recreation Committee and sec­ retary of 'the Clinton Public Utilities ConmaiSslion. He is a member of St. Andrew’s Pres­ byterian Church, Clinton LOL No. 710, and Clinton Legion ■Pipe; Band. Mrs. Robert Carter joined the Colquhoun Agency as secretary in April, 1965. The former Mar­ garet Leyburne, She was born and educated in Seaforth, and was married in 1941. ,Mr. and Mrs. Carter live at 74 Welling­ ton Street. Mrs. Carter was formerly employed at Wearwell Hosiery for 15 years until its dosing in 1960. She 'then joined the staff at Irwin's Ladies’ Wear until coming ' to the Colquhoun' Agency. Bridal Shower For Sharon Ball. At Knox, Auburn AUBURN — Silver, wedding bells, 'blue streamers with, pink rosettes and a large bouquet of pink gladioli made a pretty setting in Knox United Church Sunday School room for the shower to honour Miss Slh'aron Ball prior to her marriage this month. Mrs. Roy Daer was the chair­ man for the program which be­ gan With a singsong led by Miss Betty Youngblut accom­ panied on the piano by Miss Berniae. McDougall. Miss Mari­ lyn Daer of London conducted a paper contest and the winner was Miss Mary Sanderson. 'Miss and Misses Nancy Anderson and Betty Moss sang a duet accom­ panied on the 'piano' by Mliss Jennifer Grange. Mbs., Donald Sprung gave a humorous, read­ ing. - Miss (Lynda Andrews of Wlingham pinned a coirsage on the bride-elect and Miss Rulth Schneider of Kitchener pinned a 'corsage an Brenda Ball, the bride-elect’s sister. The honored guesits were escorted to two decorated Chairs on the plat­ form and Miss- Marilyn Daer read an address of congratula­ tions. Gifts were carried in by Nan Lapp, Brenda Archam- ibault, Wendy Schneider, Ber­ nice Hunking and Shirley Hunking.
