They were former high school class-mates at one time in St. Thomas. Mr. Lang­ don said Kelman was “a pretty fair athlete in his day.” The CHSS Cadet Corps ban-, queit was held in the school cafeteria, catered to by the cafeteria caterers and served by ladies from Clinton Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Chairman of the program was Cadet Major Steven Maguire who introduced head table guests and dignitaries. Vice- chairman was Cadet Captain Mike Maloney. Other speakers included Prin­ cipal Robert Homuth, Lt. Col. J. D. Harvey, Seaforth, of the 21st Field Regiment; Captain C. Scot-Brown, London, who showed a film on “Trooping of the Colour” at a Princess Pat­ ricia regiment ceremony in Calgary; Cadet Major Elwin Kiingswell who thanked the guest speaker, and Cadet Major Jim Livermore- who thanked Captain Scot-Brown, The regular army captain, Mr. Scot-Brown, commented on the well-groomed cadets and complimented the principal — or parents — on the short hair cuts at this school, i Officials and Top Scorers at Legion Zone Bowling Mrs. Stan Fraynp’ Exeter, convener of the tourney; Mrs. Edward Wright, Exeter, high triple (634); Joe Daer of Crown Bowling Lanes, Clinton; Mrs. Mar­ garet MacDonald, Clinton, chairman of local ar­ rangements and Mrs. Edward Hunter-Duvar, Exeter, who tied with Mrs. Wright for high triple. Missing when photo was taken was Mrs. Gerry Harris. Team in < Howie Grealis was elected president of the Clinton Mixed Bowling League, at Hie annual banquet of that group. First Vfce-pi'esident is Bill German; secretary, Mary Freeman and treasurer, Lois Gibbings. Several door prizes donated by merchants were drawn foot’, and the bowlers expressed their appreciation for these. “A” group winners earned the Milt 'and Mabel’s Restaur­ ant trophy; the Raiders, made up of Wayne and Bruce Dupee, Beulah Wonch, Harvey Ashton, Marie McAuley and Audrey Stanley. The Raiders also were top team of the season. “B” group winners were the Untouchables, and received the Lome Brown Motors trophy. Team members are Jim Arm­ strong, Dick and Marie Dixon, Ralph and Joyce Ki’omrey and Milford Dursto High team single was the Hecklers, Bob Collins, Howie Grcalis, Margaret MacDonald, Vickie Horbanuik, Mamie and Ivan Carter. High team triple are the Scatter Pins, Harold and -Lois Gibibdngs, Tom and Dorothy O'Connell, Jack and Nancy Holmes. The Tourney is divided into “Trophy” play and “Consola­ tion” event, for first-round Losers. The semi-finals' for the trophy begin Friday evening at 8:00. Saturday’s schedule begins at 10:00 a.m. with the first consolation semi-final.
