Twelve JK and SK registered for kindergarten this coming year. Mrs. Roe read a story to them. Then the health unit came in and talked to the parents. There was a snack table where they served “ants on a log”. The Scholastic Book Fair returns to the Blyth Public School Library on Nov. 30 and closes with family night on Thursday evening, Dec. 3. A Highlights flyer that iscoming home with the students lists many of the new books at theBook Fair. You can order from the flyer, but it’s hoped people will visit the fair during morning break (10:55 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.) from Monday to Thursday and from 4 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Enter the family draw which is to be held Thursday at 7 p.m. for $25 in books and another $25 in books for your child’s class- room. A successful Book Fair provides a percentage of sales in book rewards for the Blyth Public School Library. Some of the books include: The 39 Clues series, Robert Munschbooks, and the new Amulet series. There will be a door prize aswell.The Milwaukee Knights made agrand victory of winning the flag football tournament last week. Floor hockey is still at second break on Wednesdays. In the last two weeks Vancouver had two wins: an 8-6 win against Montreal and a 9-1 win against Edmonton. The volleyball tournament was on Monday and everyone came out and did their best! Students made their way down to Central Huron Secondary School and teams of boys and girls played involleyball games against four otherschools.This week students were askedwhat they liked about their teachers.Joel H. said that Mrs. Roe is very nice. Jeffery W. thinks Mrs. Middleton is “nice and that she is lots of fun.” Jaden S. said that “Mr. Gole is awesome.” Jordan S. said Mrs. Hulley’s “nice because she lets us listen to music in class”. Marielle V. says, “I like Mrs. Laye because she’s funny.” Ward V. said, “Something I like about Ms Badham is that she does a lot of group work with us. Also she gives us snacks when we share ourwork.” Chad W. said he likes Mrs.Armstrong “because she is cool.”On Nov. 30 report cards go home.Dec. 3 is parent teacher interviews and last day for the Book Fair. Dec. 4 is a PA day and Dec. 7 is Grade 4/5 full-day dance workshop. Dec. 9 is the Christmas concert at 7 p.m. Keep saving your pennies for KGW’s, “Pennies for a Million campaign”. When you have all the pennies you can collect, drop them off at the Blyth Public School office. Donations are also welcome.
