Up and under
While some students had some trouble wiggling under a
few chairs set up last week at Grey Central Public School
for a play day, it was all in good fun and the name of the
game in an obstacle course. Jason Baxter rolled a ball
before crawling under the chairs. The next step was to
hop through some hoops before running back and tagging
the next student in. (Shawn Loughlin photo)
Got it
There was fun and games galore as Grey Central Public

traditional, like ball, to the more creative. (Vicky Bremner photo)

The Blyth Bombers Bantam
softball team travelled to Wiarton
this past weekend to participate in
the annual tournament.
This group of young men
represented the Village of Blyth with
great sportsmanship, camaraderie
and also played some excellent
softball, coaches said.
In the first game the boys came out
strong defeating Owen Sound 7-0 in
five innings.
After a wet Friday night and
Saturday morning caused a nine-
hour rain delay the Bombers hit the
field to take on Elmira. Blyth won
this game by a score of 7-6 in extra
innings.
On Sunday morning the Bombers
were wide awake to mercy
Cambridge 10-0 in three innings.
This put Blyth into the semi-finals
against Mitchell. After falling
behind 3-0, the Bombers solved the
Mitchell pitcher and promptly put
eight runs across the plate to
advance to the finals.
In the final game the Bombers
came up against a good team from
Stratford and fell by a score of 8-2.
Coaches Paul Sebastian, Phil
Black and Dave Cook were very
pleased from the performance of
these young men and are looking
forward to the rest of the
season.
