The Blyth Novice Local League
ended its regular season with five
wins and 13 losses.
The team entered the WOAA
Local League playdowns. Blyth
played a home-and-home-round-
robin with Milverton, Wingham,
Monkton, and Kincardine. Blyth
ended up with seven wins and one
loss after the round robin and won
the WOAA Novice LL South
Division Championship.
Blyth then went on to play a round
robin with Walkerton and
Kincardine.
Blyth hosted Kincardine on
Wednesday, March 25. The home
team ended up losing the contest 6-
3.
Blyth goalscorers were Bailey Bos
with two, and Tanner Boven with
one. Assists went to Bos and
Connor Brooks. Lucas Townsend
played very well in the Blyth net
keeping the game close with some
early saves on Kincardine
breakaways.
Blyth travelled to Kincardine on
Thursday, March 26 and won 2-1.
Blyth goalscorers were Bos and
Boven, who scored the winning
goal. Assists went to Reese Sparling,
Keldan Pawitch and Kyle Josling.
Once again Townsend played very
well in the Blyth net. Townsend
turned away 10 shots in the third
period and Blyth hung on to win.
On Saturday, March 28 Blyth
hosted Walkerton. Blyth took a first
period lead with Bos scoring on a
breakaway. Assists went to Sparling
and Mason Campbell. However, that
was the only goal Blyth got and
Walkerton went on to win 6-1.
Despite the score Townsend made
many saves and turned aside four
Walkerton breakaways in the third
period.
On Sunday, March 29 Blyth went
to Walkerton looking for revenge.
Blyth opened the scoring when Bos
scored on a breakaway in the first
period.
Walkerton scored later in the first
period to tie the game at one.
Bos scored two more goals in the
second, then two more in the third.
Blyth won 5-3.
Assists went to Nick Aitken, Evan
Plunkett, and Boven.
Townsend played another
amazing game in the Blyth net
stopping several breakaways in the
third period.
Blyth finished the round robin
with two wins and two losses. Blyth
has to wait and see if Kincardine
beats Walkerton. If they do then all
three teams will be two wins and
two losses and it will go to a tie
breaker.
Team members are: Townsend,
Campbell, Sparling, Spencer
Lazarevich, Bos, Boven, Keldan
Pawitch, Josling, Plunkett, Connor
Brooks, Aitken, Kayla Gauthier,
