Clinton News-Record, 1972-05-18, Page 2Constable Clarence Perdue is seen in one of his most trequent occupation, writing a traffic ticket. Clarence writes the majority of the 500.700 par*ing tickets written each year. The tickets are issued to enforce the parking by-laws and keep people from leaving their cars on the streets all day, thus taking up spots that are meant for main street shoppers. It commands the respect of all who consider the rich variety of ways in which those who support the role of law go about their business. Today, as never within our lifetime, respect for the rule of law is in urgent need of revival, This can best be achieved by a better public understanding of the law enforcement process itself, exemplified as it usually is by the police function. This being the case, it is my pleasure to extend an invitation to the public to visit with their Ontario Provincial Police Force during Police Week.
