Clinton News-Record, 1972-04-20, Page 13Good eating, habits . sid\kr' 4gink Clinton News-Rpcord, Thursday, April 20,1972-3A LOWERING THE BOOM - - A 150-foot floating steel ice deflector has been installed at Sarnia by Canadian National to protect its docks and rail barge equipment from ice drifting down the St. Clair River, The 100-ton "boom" will be anchored at an angle to the current to catch and deflect floating ice during the Spring breakup on Lake Huron. CN officials expect the deflector will handle ice up to 600 feet in diameter and nine inches thick, Because it is floating, the boom will not affect the ecology of the river, Here, four cranes lower the boom into position. ADELAIDE DANIELS SAYS TIPS FOR THE IMPULSIVE EATER There is so much said about the compulsive eater — the person who finds any and every occasion to indulge in excesses. A too little, too early breakfast invites mid-morning pitfalls when the coffee wagon comes around. Take time to eat a balanced breakfast. Another tip avoid afternoon letdown with a pick-me-up of bouillon, salad, a gelatin dessert, hot beverage or fruit. Solve the boob-tube dilemma! If television is making'you appetite» addictiVe, be ready with a heaping bowl of munchables such as celery, rosy radishes, cauliflovverettes or diced green pepper. . Living with a "skinny" family can present a problem. Don't feed your family what you would like to eat because you wind up eating it — after all skinny people are just born weight watchers and haven't the temptations you have. Sleep walking may have headed you in the wrong direction. Try loosening the light bulb in your refrigerator before bedtime.
