Delores Dutot gave the treasurer's report and Lois Wise, the secretary, read the Minutes and correspondence, The annual meeting of the Diocese of Huron will he held in St, Paul's Cathedral, London on April 26, The president plans to take a group of members to this important meeting. "Thank-yous" were received from Mrs. YoumatOff, Mrs. Heitbohmer and Grace Middleton. Marion Smith reported for the social service and cards. The Rector announced that the centennial year calendar is near completion. Mabel Middleton has prepared a composite sketch of St, James Church, Middleton to be engraved on the centennial plates. This was one of the liveliest discussion meetings the reporter ever attended as details of centennial events were considered from every angle. It was decided to in4ite the ACW of Trinity Church, Hayfield, to the May meeting and plant sale to be held in the church on May 11. Dolores Dutot is the convener of the plant sale and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Nelson of Clinton will show slides. Sarah Storey reported for the travelling basket and also gave a reading, "Attitude, negative or positive". Marion Smith read an Easter poem on "Mary Magdalene". She also gave the best poem the reporter had heard on a centennial theme, "100th Anniversary of St. James". Among the ideas presented for this year's celebrations were: a strawberry social, auction sale, park picnic, bus trip, etc. Estelle Wise also gave a reading on the Easter theme "He Walked in the Garden". The president closed the meeting with the benediction. The hostess .assisted.,by.,Lois Wise„ served lunch. A social hour concluded a very interesting meeting. PERSONALS Mrs. Fred Middleton spent several days last week with her son-in-law and daughter, Dr. and Mrs. Andrew Grindlay of London. Mr, Ray Wise has constructed a belfry for St. James Church, Middleton. He now has it established on the church with the bell therein. See next week's issue for the date of dedication and the history of the "Wise" bell.
