Skipper Gozzard spoke about onehour on the Compass; and by then it was time to close the meeting, The meetings have not been held the last few weeks as restoration to the Old Town Hall is being carried out. Bayfield Sea Scouts participated in the Annual Scout Hockey in Clinton, last Saturday, April 1. MARCH 2a Brownie Meeting Report BY JO ANNE STURGEON We opened our meeting with our Brownie song and Sixer's song. Wendy Talbot was fairy queen, We all had a craft period and we made Easter baskets, Some were really beautiful and some funny. We all marched around and had a fashion show with our baskets. There wher three Brownies who received badges, Wendy Penhale got her cooking, toy- maker and writers' badges; Mary Lynn Talbot and Crystal Huffman got their Collectors badges. Then we closed our meeting with Brownie Taps. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Merritt of Sarnia visited with Mr. and Mrs. Bill Parker on Saturday. Mr. Parker was best-man at the Merritt wedding in 1930. Mrs. J. M. Atkinson, Mrs. Gerald Pence and Robert, Rochester, Michigan were at the Atkinson home during the Easter weekend. Mr. and Mrs, Harry Bosnell, Goderich, were with his aunt, Mrs. Percy Weston for Good Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Reid were in Sarnia part of last week and stayed at the Chalet Motel. While there they visited many of their friends in the area and on their return home stopped for a visit with the Rev. E.T.B. Harrison, former Rector of Trinity Anglican Church, Bayfield. Good wishes are extended to Mrs. Helen Fraser, home after being hospitalized five weeks in St. Joseph's Hospital, London and after recuperating three weeks with her son-in-law, daughter and grandchildren, Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Parker, Charlie and Kim, The Parker family accompanied Mrs. Fraser home on Friday and remained to spend the Easter weekend with her. Easter Sunday dinner guests with Mr, and Mrs. Albert Craig and Tom, were Miss' Martha Corrie, Clinton; Mr. Fred Steep, Carlow; and their son-in-law, daughter and grandaughters, Mr, and Mrs. Roger Layton, Joanne and Sheryl of Brucefield, Mr. Ron Knight and daughter Heather of Toronto were with his Mother, Mrs. Gilbert Knight from Thursday until Saturday. Mr, and Mrs. George Durham, Jim and Ron, Clarkson, spent Easter weekend with Pis Uncle Carl and Mrs. Diehl. We are most happy to report that Mrs. Diehl (Lucy) was able to return to her home Iast Thursday after 12 weeks spent in Clinton Public Hospital. Miss Colleen Merner, Toronto, was with her parents Mr. and Mrs, Merton Merner and sister Dawn and brothers Lorne and Kelvin for Easter, Mr. and Mrs. Art Latimer, Bill, Gil and Christy were Easter weekend visitors with the lady's mother, Mrs. Gilbert Knight. Saturday dinner guests with Mr. and Mrs. Bill Parker were their son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren, Mr. and Mrs. W.C. Parker, Charlie and Kim of London and Mrs. Helen Fraser. Easter weekend guests at the Jack B. Sturgeon were their daughter Rhea of London; and their son, daughter-in-law and family, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Sturgeon, Jeff and Rollie of Orangeville. Mrs, Myrtle Pease and Irvin of London, spent the Easter weekend in their village home. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Stevenson, Kathy, Karen, Doug SEVENTH MEETING OF SWEET DREAMERS Kippen 2, 411 Club met at the home of Linda Bell, March 29. The meeting opened with the 411 Pledge and the minutes were read by' Linda Vanneste, The next Secretary elected was Joyce Branderhorst. The roll call was a suggestion for the exhibit. The hand out sheets were taken up. The next meeting will be Thursday April 6 at the home of Debbie Consitt when the exhibit will be planned. Mrs, Vivan Cooper- and Mr. Clayton Cooper have returned from Detroit, and David were Easter weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Eric Earl. IVfiss Joy Cleave was in Kitchener from Thursday to Saturday of last week attending a Baptist Young Peoples Convention, Mr. and Mrs. Logan Cleave spent the Easter weekend in Chatham with their son-in-law, daughter and grandaughter, Mr. and Mrs. Rick Jeffrey and Shannon. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Wachhaus, Kingsville were at their village home for Easter weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Pitblado and family of Oakville were at their village home for Easter Monday. Miss Lynn Brandon, Wingham spent the Easter weekend with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Ken Brandon and brothers and sisters, Pat, Harold, Blair, Karen and Kelly. , Mr. and Mrs, Charles Scotchmer have returned home after a marvellous two-month holiday in United States, They spent five weeks in Arizona at a lovely trailer park where the temperature was 92 degrees, so needless to say they are well rested and have a good tan. They visited for a few days in Galveston, Texas, with Mr. and Mrs. Doug Scotchmer, another few days in Nevada and on their return trip stayed some time with Dr. and Mrs. George Scotchmer in St. Louis, Missouri. Mr. Richard Simons is attending the London Skating School, spring session being held in Stratford this week, Hayfield Skaters have successfully completed the following tests. Richard Simons, who attended the Walkerton Winter Skating School from March 19 to 26, passed the Junior Bronze Dances; Shirley McFadden, the Senior Bronze Dances; both on March 26 and on March 28 at the Goderich Figure Skating Club; Cathy McFadden, passed her preliminary figures and Danielle Simons passed her Junior Bronze Dances. They spent two days in Williamsburg' The P.J.'s BY BRENDA GIBBINGS The fifth meeting of the Clinton 4, P.J.'s was held at Mrs. Brenda McIntosh's. Minutes were read by Nancy Gibbings. The rollcall was "compare the total cost of your garment with a similar ready- made one." Isobel gave the members a quiz. A discussion on Achievement Day. Our exhibit is on "Materials for Sleepwear". The demonstration was on how to do facing, understitching and casting on elastic. Next meeting on March 22 at Isobel Gibson, The sixth meeting was held 'at Mrs. Isobel Gibson. Miss Hunt was a visitor at this meeting. Minutes were read by Jean Falconer. The roll call was "one new sewing technique that you have learned from sleepwear that you did not know before." The theme for our Fashion Show will be "Spring". Our commentator is Brenda Gibbings. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Meyer and Michelle, Waterloo; Miss May Ervine, Goderich; Mr, and Mrs, George Hannigan; Toronto, and Mr. Bill Lowry, Windsor were Easter weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Ervine, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Pounder, Cathy, Mary and girlfriend Ruby, London were at their village home over Easter: Mr. and Mrs. Howard Scotchmer, Robert and Lori of Chatham were with his Mother, Mrs. L.W. Scotchmer for Easter weekend. Meagan and Courtney McLaughlin, Toronto, who have been visiting with their grandma, Mrs. Fred Le Beau this past week; returned home with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fletcher McLaughlin who spent Easter weekend in the village. Mr. and Mrs. George Kalanzis, Birmingham, Michigan are spending this week in the village. Mr. Bud Robinson, Kapuskasing, spent the Easter weekend with his Mother, Mrs. E.B. Robinson of the Albion Hotel on his return from a two week vacation in Florida. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Talbot of the Tank and Tummy Restaurant, slipstitch hem. A leader told us and showed us how to sew on a button. Next meeting on April 3 in the afternoon at Mrs. Isobel Gibson. We had a lunch after the meeting. Clinton II 4-H On March 19 we held our sixth meeting at Mrs. Ellis. The leaders gave us a crossword puzzle to complete. After filling out the sheet they showed us how to do the slip stitch hem. Following this we practised sewing on buttons and doing the slip stitch. Next meeting will be March 26, at Mrs, Jenkins. CLINTON 11 4-H The "Sleeping Beauties" seventh meeting was held March 26 at Mrs. Jenkin's. We worked on our posters and decided to have a dress rehearsal on April 5 in preparation for Achievement Day, Everyone is welcome to attend Achievement Day, April 29, at the Clinton high school. have returned henie after spending the past month in Florida. Continued good health is extended to Mr. Gordon Scotchmer and to Mrs. Fred Arkell who are at their respective homes after being hospitalized. Prizes were received by those with perfect attendance—Mrs. Ross Broadfoot, Mrs. Al Hoggarth, Mrs. Stewart Pepper and Mrs. J. Drummond. Mrs. Campbell Eyre got the prize for scrubbing the .floor, Mrs. Cecil Pullman for making cookies, Mrs. D, Adams for drinking the most coffee at breakfast, Mrs. Ross McBeth for an anniversary nearest the March 28, Mrs. Jack Bell for a birthday nearest the date. Mrs. James Drummond gave a humorous reading. Winners of the euchre were— first Mrs, W.J.F. Bell, second, Mrs. Vern Alderice; Low, Mrs. D. Adams; lone hands, Mrs. J. Collins. Courtesy remarks were given by the President, Mrs, R. Bell, and by Mrs. Ken McLean for the 4H leaders. Mrs, D. Brodie, leader of the losers, and Mrs. J.
