Legion 's gala event
New Year's Eve
Auburn United Church was
decorated with two pots of
poinsettias for the December 11
double-ring wedding ceremony
at which Margaret Colleen Park,
Dungannon, exchanged vows
with William Gordon Naylor,
Auburn.
Mr. and Mrs. Benson Park,
Dungannon, are the parents of
the bride, and Mrs. 'Jessie
Naylor, Auburn, is the groom's
mother. Pastor Fry, Auburn, and
Rev. Wittich of Blyth,
performed the ceremony.
Organist was Mrs. Norman
Wightman, Auburn.
Escorted by her father, the
bride wore a full-length white
crepe gown with a train trimmed
with flowered lace. The gown
featured an empire waist
trimmed with flowered lace and
elbow-length bell sleeves. She
chose a shoulder-length veil and
carried red carnations with red
velvet streamers and holly.
Matron of honor was Mrs.
Alex Maclnnis, sister of the
groom, Goderich. She wore a
full-length gown of crepe in a
coral shade. The empire waist
In the hall, prepared by the
entertainment committee, the
160 Legion members and guests
celebrated New Year's Eve again
this year.
The ladies took advantage of
the "dress optional" and turned
out graciously in from evening
gowifs to pant suits. To aid in
the party attitude, small corsages
were presented to the ladies as
they entered the hall.
The music by Ian Wilbee and
his band was quite well adapted
to the crowd and there were
very few empty seats when the
band was in action. This is the
kind of a "pqty" everyone
enjoys and the evening passed
too quickly. At midnight, the
was trimmed with flowered lace
and the sleeves were
elbow-length bells. 'She carried
tinted green carnations with
green streamers and holly.
Groomsman was George
Naylor, brother of the groom,
Toronto, Ushers were Glen
Naylor, brother of the groom,
Auburn, and Douglas Park,
brother of the bride,
Dungannon.
The reception was held at the
Dungannon Agricultural Hall.
The bride's mother wore a black
and white crepe dress with
netting and a corsage of pink
carnations. The groom's mother
wore a violet fortrel crepe dress
and a corsage of pink carnations.
Following her wedding, the
bride changed to a violet pant
suit of wool knit and a corsage
of pink carnations.
Mr. and Mrs. Naylor are
residing at 122 Rattenbury St.,
Clinton.
Prior to ,her wedding, the
bride was the guest of honor at
showers given by Mrs. Alex
Maclnnis, Goderich, • and Mrs.
Robert Woods, St. Augustine.
usual noise makers, hats and
balloons brought everything to a
peak and the New Year was
welcomed by one and all.
This years party was catered
by the Hohner family of RR 4,
Clinton, and the meal was a
masterpiece. The Branch thanks
Murray and the family who gave
up their New Year's Eve to help
us enjoy ours. We will remember
them in the future.
Our next social evening is Jan.
15 with the Bluewater Playboys
supplying the music, We hope
many of our friends will be
present and a good time is
usually had by all.
Happy New Year from Branch
