She was in her 65th year. She was the beloved wife of Clare Vincent, loving mother of Bruce and Debbie Vincent of Wingham, Ron and Rosalee Vincent of Goderich and Rob and Katharine Vincent of Wingham. Wilma was the daughter-in-law of Anne Vincent of Clinton. She was the dear sister and sister-in-law of Ken and Vangie Spears of Wingham, Ruth and Carman Howatt of Clinton, Eileen and Leo Greidanus of Seaforth, Helen Spears and Bill Belrose of Guelph, Doug Vincent and Donna Walsh of Blyth, Jack and Annie Vincent of Auburn, Marylou Vincent and Arnold Storey of Windsor. She was the cherished grandmother of Peter, Chelsea, Jake and Stacey and great-grandmotherof Ryan and Haley. She was aspecial aunt to many nieces andnephews and dear friend to Sharon Vincent of Wingham and Brenda Heyblom of Pike Bay. She was predeceased by her parents Clarence and Mary (Caudle) Spears, father-in-law Norman Vincent, sister-in-law Darlene Vincent and nephew Mike Vincent. A celebration of life service will be held at Heartland Community Church, 52 Victoria St., Clinton on Saturday, Oct. 2 at 2 p.m. Interment is in Hope Chapel Cemetery, Hullett Twp. As expressions of sympathy, the family requests donations to the Clinton Public Hospital Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society, or encourages you to perform a random act of kindness. BEVERLEY ADELE BROWN Beverley Adele Brown passed away suddenly on Sunday, Sept. 26, 2010 at her home at Greenwood Court in Stratford, Ontario. She was 80. Bev is survived by her dear sister Helen Joanne Holmes of Corpus Christi, Texas. She was the aunt of Tracy Mistler and her husband Michael of Overland Park, Kansas, and Lauren and Forrest and dear cousin of Mary Kiernan of California and Pat and Bill Zeigler of Akron, Ohio. Bev was predeceased by her parents Marcusand Helen (Smith) Brown andbrother “Buddy” Marcus L. BrownIII. Bev loved her own family of many, many friends as well. They are far too numerous to mention. She was loved by them and will be so missed. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Schimanski Family Funeral Home, 401 Albert St., Brussels and burial will be by cremation. A memorial service will be held at Brussels Mennonite Fellowship on Saturday, Oct. 2 at 1 p.m. As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, donations to Brussels Mennonite Fellowship or Avon Mennonite Church, Stratford would be appreciated. Full obituary coming in the Oct. 7 issue of The Citizen. KAREN CARDIFF Karen M. (Buschlen) Cardiff of Brussels passed away on Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010 at University Hospital, London. Born in Durham on April 6, 1935, Karen was 75 years of age. Karen was the beloved wife of the late Jim Cardiff (Oct. 4, 1998) and will be sadly missed by her children Murray and Lynn, Greg and Brenda, MaryLynne and Rick, and Susan and David. She was a dear sister-in-law to Isabel Pearson, Jack and Audrey Cardiff, Jean Wolfe and Barb Cardiff. Karen was also loved by her nine grandchildren and three great- grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents Clifford and Alice.Friends were received by thefamily from 7 to 9 p.m. on Saturdayfrom the Schimanski Family Funeral Home where the funeral service was conducted on Sunday, Sept. 26 at 2 p.m. and officiated by Pastor Sandra Cable. Remembrances of Karen were given by her grandchildren and her son-in-law David. Cremation followed with interment in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Ethel. He was in his 87th year. Charlie was the beloved husband of the late Shirley Emily Rutledge- Cross and the late Marjorie Cross.He was the dear stepfather of Robertand Jean Rutledge of Brampton,Larry and Jan Rutledge of Clinton, Gwen and Don Brander of Norval, Rick and Heather Rutledge of Clinton and Dr. Ken and Helen Rutledge of Inverary. He will be fondly remembered by Hunter, Morgan, Tristan, and Savannah and his step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. He was the dear brother of Lesley of Windsor. He was predeceased by his parents and siblings. Friends were received at the Blyth Visitation Centre of the Falconer Funeral Homes Ltd., 407 Queen Street, Blyth on Sept. 29 from 1 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. Interment is in Windsor. He had the courage to point out the failings of those in leadership and the grace to forgive them even as he was hung on a cross by them. The Christian faith is more than a pile of rules. It is a community of people who strive to follow Jesus in the balancing act of life. Blackberries and iPhones are welcome, but ultimately it is God’s grace that places wisdom, guidance and peace of mind in the palm of our hands. God, not tech, leads
