MALINDA SOPHIE JOHNSTONMalinda Sophie (Kaster) Johnston
of Brussels, passed away peacefully
at Huronlea Home for the Aged,
Brussels on Thursday, Aug. 5, 2010.
Born in Brant Township on
December 2, 1916, Malinda was in
her 94th year.
She was the beloved wife of the
late Hugh Johnston (1993).
Malinda was the dear mother of
Allan and Bernice Johnston of
Wallaceburg, Larry and Helen
Johnston of RR 4, Goderich, Irene
and Kelly Bennett of Harriston, and
Shirley and Keith Clark of Brussels.
She was the loving grandmother of
Vince, Leslie, Nancy, Brad, Chad,
Walt, Grace, Kevin, Brian, Dennis,
Debbie, Gail, Kim, Kathy, Ed,
Tracey, Kendra and Gary, 21 great-
grandchildren and one great-great-
grandchild.
She was also loved by her sisters
Pearl Roumey and Margaret Lipskie,
both of Walkerton, her sister-in-law
Marie Kaster of Hanover and son-in-
law Don and Darlene Fischer of
Brussels. She was predeceased by
her son Walter, daughters Joyce
Colyer and Linda Fischer, her
grandsons David Johnston and Scott
Colyer, brothers Harvey, Fred,
Clarence and Dave and sister
Adeline Weber.
Friends were received by the
family one hour prior to the funeral
service being conducted from the
Schimanski Family Funeral Home
on Saturday, Aug. 7 at 11 a.m. Rev.
Randy Banks officiated. Interment
was in Brussels Cemetery.
Carrying floral tributes were
granddaughters Gail Wheeler,Tracey Swart and Kathy Herd.
Pallbearers were Walt Johnston,
Kevin Neill, Brian Neill, Ed Clark,
Mark Swart, Vince Colyer and Brad
Smith.
As an expression of sympathy,

JOHN WILLIAM MCBURNEY
Mr. Jack McBurney of RR 2,
Wingham passed away at Fordwich
Village Nursing Home, Fordwich,
on Saturday, July 31, 2010. He was
90.
He was the beloved husband of
Olive (Grant) McBurney, father of
Brian and Brenda McBurney of
Wroxeter, Doug and Jackie
McBurney of Wingham, and Jim and
Marlene McBurney of RR 1,
Wingham.
He was the grandfather of
Shannon and Peter Holland and
Jackie and Ryan Sanders, all of
Wroxeter, Adam McBurney of St.
Thomas, Aaron McBurney and
fiancée Rachel McKenna of
Hamilton, and Andrew McBurney of
Wingham and great-grandfather of
Connor and Kaden Holland, and
Paige and Tayt Sanders.
He was the brother of Jean Stokes
of Belmore and brother-in-law of
Shirley and Mervin McAllister of
Wingham. He was predeceased by
his parents James and Margaret
(Chandler) McBurney and by
brothers-in-law Stewart Grant and
John Stokes.Visitation was held at McBurney
Funeral Home, Wingham, August 4
from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9
p.m. The funeral service was held at
the funeral home chapel on August
5. Rev. Jeff Hawkins officiated.
Interment was in Wroxeter
Cemetery, Howick Township.

RODERICK WILLIAM
CHARLES MCKAY
Mr. Charles McKay of Wingham
passed away at the Wingham and
District Hospital on Friday, Aug. 6,
2010. He was 70.
He was the beloved husband of the
former Joanne Cobb, dear father of
Danny and Patricia McKay of
Brussels, Billy McKay and Sue
Jones of Calgary and Kathy and Lyle
Campbell of Bluevale. He was the
son of Emma (Krohn) McKay and
the late George McKay.
He will be lovingly remembered
by grandchildren Krys Campbell
and friend Jaimee TenPas, Kyle
Campbell and Keshia Carter, Krista
and Katelyn McKay. He is also
survived by sisters-in-law Louise
and her husband Bob Hallahan of
Bramalee and Janet and her husband
Lou Wing of Lakefield. He was
predeceased by his brother David
McKay in 1990 and granddaughter
Kelsey Campbell in 1996.
Visitation was held at McBurney
Funeral Home,Wingham on Sunday,
from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Funeral servicewas held at the funeral home chapel
on Monday at 1:30 p.m. Rev. Jeff
Hawkins officiated. Interment was in
Wingham Cemetery.
Memorial donations to the Heart
and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or
the Canadian Cancer Society would
be appreciated as expressions of

FRANK SANDERS SR.
Frank Sanders Sr. of Huronlea
Home for the Aged, Brussels passed
away on Saturday, Aug. 7, 2010 at
Stratford General Hospital. Born in
Ter Aar, the Netherlands on January
9, 1919, Frank was in his 92nd year.
Frank showed foresight, bravery,
determination and pride, bringing
his family across the ocean for a
better future, working two jobs to
make a difference, farming – crops,
cows, goats and herbs, and passing
his knowledge and experience along
to the next generation. His faith, his
family and his love of all things
“growing” should be an example to
each of us. May we keep in our
minds and hearts what was
important to him and let it livethrough each of us, every day.
Frank was the beloved husband of
the late Helena Hoogenboom and
will be missed by his children Bill
and Anne Sanders of London, Leo
and Corry Sanders of RR 4,
Brussels, Elaine Pratt of St. Thomas,
Joe Sanders and Beth Fulton of
Belgrave, Jack and Maggie Sanders
of Kitchener, Bert and Mary Sanders
of Belgrave, Louie and Mary
Sanders of Mitchell, Jane Van Camp
of RR 4, Brussels, and Frank and
Doris Sanders of RR 4, Brussels.
Frank was also loved by his 28
grandchildren and 34 great-
grandchildren. He was predeceased
by grandchildren Lia and Paul and
his son-in-law Gary Van Camp.

Schimanski Family Funeral Home
on Monday at 6:30 p.m. and
