CONNELLY. We wish to extend our
sincere thanks and appreciation to
our family, friends and neighbours
for their many acts of kindness
shown to our mother, Leona, during
her final years in her home, and to us
at the time of our recent loss. The
donations of flowers, food, money
and personal time were greatly
appreciated. To the staff on the
second floor of Listowel Memorial
Hospital, to Dr. Latuskie and to the
Schimanski Family Funeral Home,
thanks to each of you for your
professionalism and kindness as you
guided us along the way. Father
Keith Morrison, you went way
beyond the call of duty to support
Mom and us during her final days.
Your presence made a difficult time
so much easier and we are truly
grateful that you were with us. A
special note of appreciation goes to
the girls from Town and Country
Homemakers and the St. Elizabeth
Society. Each of you gave Mom
exceptional loving care and your
friendship. She truly appreciated
each of you. We are so fortunate to
have caregivers of this caliber in our
community. – Don and Yvonne

OLDFIELD. The family of the late
Leona Oldfield wishes to express
heartfelt thanks to all who have been
close to us. First we would like to
thank those who honoured her 80th
birthday through their attendance at
her party on January 31 and for the
phone calls, cards, flowers and gifts.
She had a wonderful day and it was
truly a blessing that so many of you
were able to share this very special
time with her. Thanks to Anne
Mulholland for her wonderful tribute
to a 63-year friendship. Since
Leona’s passing on Feb. 2 we are
thankful for all who have supported
us in so many ways. Our sincere
appreciation to Dr. Shepherd and
Jill, homecare nurses and
homemakers, ambulance attendants,
Dr. Datema and the ER nurses at
Seaforth Community Hospital for
their care and compassion. To all
who offered condolences at the
visitation and funeral, for the
generous donations in support of
various charities in her memory, for
the beautiful floral tributes, for all
who visited, brought food, sent
cards, on-line condolences or called,
and especially to our wonderful
neighbours who prepared supper for
us on Thursday, helped with chores
and cleared snow, we offer our
grateful appreciation. Our sincere
thanks to Reverend Karine Farmer
for her comforting words at the time
of Leona’s death and for conducting
a beautiful service of remembrance
to honour her life, to our St.
Thomas’Anglican Church family for
their caring support at the funeral
and wonderful luncheon provided by
the ladies, to the choir and organist,
Rachael Wood for leading us in
some of Leona’s favourite hymns.
Our deep appreciation to the
pallbearers, flower bearers and
readers, Sarah Mills, Anne
Mulholland, Rev. Calvin Diegel and
Susan Jared van Vliet and extra
special thanks to Patti Hinz for her
wonderful words of remembrance.
