The playoff season has started and

Palmerston.
Blyth would hit the scoreboard
first with a goal from John Lecomte

would see the Bulldogs up against a
strong Zurich team.
The Bulldogs hit the ice ready to
play and this game would see them
net the first goal, an unassisted goal

In the second period with end-to-

team hit the net even though there
were many shots taken by both
teams.
The second would see the home
team score first, but the dawgs would
continue to attack and see goals
coming from Steven Ellis assisted by

would rally back and score two more
before this period would end.

Playoffs start for Blyth midgets
The Brussels PeeWee Reps
travelled to Zurich on Monday, Feb.
15 for a 7 p.m. game.
Brussels won this game 3-2. Goals
were scored by Colton Hastings,
Mitch Kellington and Luke
McCutcheon.
Wednesday night saw Brussels
host Zurich for game number three.
In this game, the kids lost in
overtime 5-4. Tough one. Brussels
still leads the series 2-1.
In to game four with the title still
up for grabs. Brussels led the scoring
early with a nice goal by Wyatt
Ducharme, assisted by Austin
Johnston. There was lots of passing
of the puck from one end to the
other, both sides wanting to get that
all-important lead.
Near the end of the second period,
Scott Dolmage found the the inside
of the net, thanks to the help of Tim
Waechter and Ducharme. Early in
the third, Hayden TenPas wound
up and fired one in to make it
3-0. With just 28 seconds left
on the clock, Zurich finally managed
to squeak one in past Matt McNichol
to make it 3-1.
Both goalies were kept busy
throughout the game stopping shot
after shot after shot. As the clock
ticked down the last few seconds of
the game, the kids were thumping
their sticks and the spectators
were cheering – they knew they
had won.
When the buzzer went, the kids
cleared the bench and huddled
around their goalie, McNichol.
Brussels won this game 3-1 to
claim the WOAA PeeWee “E”
title. Captain Kellington was
presented the trophy on behalf of the
team.
They will now play Manvers for
the OMHA “E” title.
The Brussels Atom Reps travelled
to Zurich on Valentine’s Day for
game three of their best-of-five
series.
With the help of Mitch McKee,
Logan Kellington slammed one into
the net after just a minute of play to
take a 1-0 lead. It was a full period
of play before Wyatt Machan flipped
one in with a pass from Jack Pipe.
This gave Brussels a 2-0 lead.
Under a minute later, Zurich
scored two quick goals to tie it up.
The parents were concerned
heading into the third period. In the
first two games, both went to
sudden-death overtime. After almost
10 minutes of play in the third, the
game was still tied. It took a goal
from Delayna Smith to break that
tie. She was assisted by McKee and
Machan. After another two minutes
went by, Machan scored to give
Brussels a further point spread.
Machan scored again to lead
Brussels to a 5-2 win. With three
straight wins, Brussels was awarded
the WOAA “E” division title.
Saturday, Brussels travelled up to
Port Carling for the first game of the
OMHA semi-finals. This is to be a
best-of-five series. Despite some
great moves, Brussels lost 6-5.
Sunday, the reps played once again
in Port Carling. Again, they lost.
These two play in Brussels on
Saturday, Feb. 27 and Feb. 28.
