The Brussels Atom Reps travelled
to Zurich for the first game of the
WOAA E title series. This will be a
best-of-five game series.
Zurich was quick to light up the
scoreboard to take a 1-0 lead. That
goal got Brussels on the defensive to
stop any further goals and try to gain
the upper hand.
It took a little bit before Noah
Terpstra was able to tie it up in the
second period.
Neither team was able to break
that tie before overtime was
necessary. It was Wyatt Machan who
managed to fling one in past the
Zurich goalie to end the game giving
Brussels a 2-1 overtime victory.
The defence of Logan Kellington,
Brett Stevenson, Ben Newell, Avery
McArter and Dylan McNeil deserve
credit for stopping a lot of possible
shots. Goalie Derrick Waechter
stopped all but one of the shots that
got past the defence lines.
Hats off to all the forwards for
taking all the shots on the Zurich
net.
The team played Wednesday night
in Brussels. Sunday is back in
Zurich.
