Despite starting off to a 4.0
lead in their Western Ontario
Juvenile Girls softball game,
Clinton girls folded before a five
run Brodhagen onslaught in the
fifth inning to be eliminated in
their best of three semi-final.
Nine Clinton errors helped
Brodhagen overtake the early
Clinton lead to win 10.8 in a
game at CFB Clinton,
Clinton scored One run in the
first and added three more in the
second on three walks and a
double by Sally Walden, After
Brodhagen scored two' in the
third and three in the fourth to
take the lead, Clinton came back
in the bottom of the fourth with
four more runs on a walk to
Marlene Cunningham, singles to
Dianne Cunningham and Mickie
McPherson, a double to Sandra
Fremlin and a home run by
Riith Ann Neilans.
Brodhagen then scored rive in
the fifth and despite the fact
that Clinton was able to put
runners on base, they couldn't
bring them around to score.

The Brucefield girls now meet
Shakespeare in the finals. The
first game is to be played on
Thursday evening at 8:30 p.m.
at the C.F.B. Clinton diamond
with the second game at
Shakespeare Friday night.
Bantams err
Errors spelled the doom of
Clinton Bantams as they
dropped the first 'game of their
playoff series with Milton over
the weekend, 9-1.
The mistakes cost the local
club six runs in the first and two
more in the second in the game
played in Milton.
Milton pitching held Clinton
to one run but was not overly
impressive according to manager
Randy Glew who thinks his
team should bounce back to win
the second game of the series,
Saturday at 2 p.m. at the
Community Park.
