On Goderich Psychiatric Hospital Parking •Lot, west' of number 21 Highway a vehicle owned by John Talbot, 214 Gibbons Street, Goderich was struck by a vehicle driven by Spencer Chapple, Brownies Street, Teeswater resulting in minor damage to the Talbot vehicle. On number 8 Highway, east (Huron'. Rd, 31) r ,Raymond Thibert, C.F.B. 'Clinton, Adastral Park, and Herbert Patterson, Binbrook, were involved in a car-truck accident resulting in damage to the Thibert vehicle. Thibert received injuries. St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Clinton, was decorated with potted yellow mums and candelabra on August 1, 1970 for the marriage of Thomas John Morgan- to Darlene Dawn Hanley. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Morgan, Clinton and the bride the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Don Hanley, Clinton. Rev. W. D. Jarvis of Exeter officiated at the double-ring ceremony. Mrs. B. Boyes played a special selection of Beethoven during the signing of the register. The bride, given in marriage by her father, chose a floor-length, empire-style gown with short sleeves and a-silkcrepe standup collar; chapel train and five-tiered veil ailing to shoulder length, held '"by flowers and leaves. The dress and train were edged by guipure lace. She carried white stephanotis on a white ,,bible -.with flowing ribbons: entwined with purple straw flowers. Miss Dianne ,Hanley, sister of the' bride of'-Stratford, wore a floor-length gown with mauve Swiss dots over mauve satin with short puff sleeves and white daisies, in her hair. She carried yellow and white shasta.daisies. Bridesmaid Anne 'Hardy, Goderich; and junior bridesmaid Miss Jeapette Dutot, cousin of the groom, were dressed identically. Groomsman was Stewart Young of. Clinton and ushers were Wayne Peachy, Goderich, and David Hanley, Clinton, brother of the bride. . • A reception was held at the Hotel Clinton which was decorated with mauve candles surrounded by yellow and white mums. Receiving the guests, the bride's mother chose a dress .of dawn pink Alencon lace, matching ensemble, with red sweetheart roses in her hair and In a corsage. She wore white accessories. The groom's mother assisted wearing a mint green matching ensemble of silk shantung with a corsage of orange sweetheart roses and matching accessories. For her travelling costume the bride chose a navy, sleeveless crimplene dress with red purse, and shoes, white-gliiies, white corsage of stephanotis. The couple will reside in Clinton. Before her marriage the bride was feted • at showers given by Mrs. Edna Fremlin, Mrs. Jean 011son and Mrs. Bee Cooke. The groom's gift to the bride was a dresser set and the bride's gift to the groom was an engraved leather jewell case. Guests were present from England, Meaford, Sarnia and St. Thomas. The groomsman, Stewart Young, flew from Wabash, Labrador to attend the wedding. A dance to the music of the Parisiennes was held at the SH A E R —HAMS LYN The CFB Trenton Protestant Chapel was the setting Saturday, July 25, when Eleanor Ann, eldest daughter of Captain and Mrs. F. J. Hamlyn became the bride of Robert Rendall Shaer, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. R. Shaer, all of CFB Trenton. Major C. White officiated at the double-ring service before an alter adorned with white tapers, baskets of tall pink and white gladioli, shasta daisies and white chrysanthemums. The wedding music was played by Mrs. de St. Croix, cousin of the bride. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a full-length gown of white French georgette over satin featuring an' empire waistline, with bodice and full sleeves smocked in seed pearls. Her long veil was caught in bouffant style by a cluster of tiny white roses and lily of the valley and she carried a colonial bouquet of white carnations. The maid of honour, Janice Moreshead, Winnipeg, wore a full-length gown of flowered silk taffeta and the bridesmaids Loma Harnlyn, Maureen. Orr, - and Anne Louise Boutet wore identical gowns of flowered chiffon over pink taffeta. They . all Wore IOW's of wide pink and bine ribbons in their bouffant hair styles and carried nosegayS of white daisies. The little ,flower Mhetrag Hammond Inveeeded 'the, bride down the aisle dressed in a long aqua crepe dress, carrying a basket of daisies and pink swept peas. The `,groom' was attended by Terry Heatherington, Toronto, while Michael 'Alexander, Jack Wilkie and Reg Harnlyn acted as .ushers., FolloWing the ceremony a reception was held at AMDU Officer's Mess where the bride's mother wearing: a pale green lace sheath, with matching coat, white accessories and a pink rose corsage received the guests. She was assisted .by the groom's mother who wore a fpll-sleeved pink. crepe dress with sleeveless lace coat, pink chiffon hat, white accessories and a corsage Of pink carnations. For'her going away outfit the bride chose a pink crepe mini dress with flared skirt, white crochet' straw accessories and a corsage of pink rose'b'uds. After the, honeymoon in the Algoma Lake district, the couple will reside in HamiltOn. MYCHOFT — JONES Ferns and candelabra adorned the altar of . Kippen 'United Church on July 25, 1970, for the marriage of Wendy Christine Jones, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer Jones, Hensall, and David Leslie Mycroft, London, son' of the late Mr. and Mrs. Walter Mycroft. Miss Joan Sinclair, of London, the soloist, was accompanied by Paul Kennedy, of London, brother-in-law of the groom. The bride, escorted to the altar by her father, wore a full-length gown of White sculptured satin. The bodice was fashioned of Belgium lace with portrait neckline and long full sleeves buttoned at the wrist. A detachable cathedral train accentuated with matching lace, cascaded from the centre back of the . empire waistline. A shoulder-length, four-tiered silk illusion veil was held by a headpiece of pearls, petals and flowers. She carried a cascade of white roses, stephanotis and trailing ivy. Miss Gwynneth Jones, of Toronto, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Ruth Brown, of Clinton, and Mrs.. Douglas Wilkins, of Chatham. They wore identical floor-length gowns, similar to the bride's, of sapphire blue sculptured satin. They wore yellow and white mums in their hair and carried wicker gathering baskets of yellow and white baby mums and trailing ivy. The flowergirl, Sheila Jones, of Lucan, niece of the bride, wore a floor-length gown of white sculptured satin identical to that of the bride's. She carried a smaller basket similar to the bridesmaids'. Ringbearer was David Jones, of Lucan, the bride's nephew. George Mycroft, of London, was his brother's gnionismari. Gary 4011es, • Lucen t brother of the bride, and David' Ruchanan, Brianston, ushered the pests. The bride's mother chose a Paatel aqua cPat-dress ensemble, with white accessories. Her corsage was YellOW roses and white mums. The wedding dinner was held in the church parlors. Later in the evening a reception was held in the Exeter Legion. Hall. For travelling the bride chose a scalloped powder blue gown with bone accessories. She wore a pink orchid corsage. The couple will live in Mississauga, where the groom is employed with Eastern Geophysics. BRIDAL SHOWERS Prienda and neighbours of S.S. NO. 14 Stanley held a shower at the home of Mrs. Thomas Penhale, Co-hostesses were Mrs. Alex Townsend, Mrs. Peter De Wys and Mrs. Egbert Faber. Another shower was held at Kippen United Church. London Life held a shower in the bride's honour in the staff lounge at London Life. Aug S ARER — COPP Wendy Patricia Joan Shearer and David Irwin Copp were married Saturday, August 15, in Bright United Church. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James C. Shearer of R.R. 1 Bright and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Copp of Toronto. Rev. J. C. Jack of Toronto performed the double-ring ceremony and organist Mrs. Ken Bailey of Lindsay played traditional wedding music. The church was 'decorated in candelabra and pink and white gladioli. The bride was given in marriage by her father, with Mrs. Sean Pennylegion of Toronto as her matron of honor.
