BY BERT CLIFFORD Colts 8 - DashWood 1 The hot bats of Butch Fleet and Ed Daer helped Clinton Colts thump Dashwood 8-1 in the first game,of their semi-final for the Huron-Perth Baseball League Championship. Fleet pounded out back-to-back doubles while Daer, after hitting twb singles, hit a 330-foot homerun in the eighth. A big first inning gave the Colts a four-run lead on three hits on three Dashwood errors. Cam Colquhoun hit a long double to score Barry Mutrie and Brad Dutot. Laurie Colquhoun followed with a single, moving Cam to third. He scored on Deer's first single. A freak accident to Laurie Colquhoun • put him out of action for the rest of the game. His bat broke and a large splinter went through one of his fingers. The team management expect him to be back in the line up very shortly. They get set in their ways and don't like to make changes, Patterns of life are rigorously followed until something forces a change in habits. . This human-like trait leads to some drastic differences in fish behavior during the hot weeks of sum- mer. The normal ways of fishing usually don't produce during summer dol. drums, yet many anglers stick to Red Fisher their set habits and give up fishing until the weather and the water cool. By calling it quits they're probably missing some good fishing, says Red Fisher, the angling authority at Mercury outboards. What they should do is change their habits along with the fish. To begin, start getting out on the lake before the sun comes up, be there again when it goes down. Skip the hot hours in between. Fish will change what' they eat, too. Summer is the time of insects - grasshoppers, crickets, ants and a multitude of other delectible (to fish, of course) foods. Artificial lures will be passed up in favor of these natural foods. A third consideration is where to fish. Since the supply of natural food is most abun- dant in shallow water, that is where the action will be. Live baits and shallow water dictate a change in fishing methods. No heavy trolling or plug casting rods now, The situation calls for light-weight fly or spin casting tackle, with light lines and fine wire hooks. #57:4416-r (Adult Entertainment) SUN., MON.," TUES. -4k of Va"'" oteoninen fuil-leng thil, Bnrad lealt, • New A UNWEIISAL PICTUOETII-CHNCOLC4i' mods ant YOU WILL MEET "NIS 1.11."."
