The Stork Shoppe
Enough twine to wrap around
• the world three times and leave
plenty to tie a neat bow, was
unloaded in Toronto Harbour
last, week.
A record breaking shipment
of 105,000 bales of baler twine
for Ontario farmers arrived from
Brazil in one load aboard the
Brazilian vessel Dalila. If all of
this twine was stretched out end
to end, it would be 199,000
miles long. United Co-operatives
of Ontario, who brought the
twine to Ontario, broke its own
record of 100,000 bales set last
year.
The twine was made in Brazil
from top quality natural sisalana
fibre, and will be used by the
Ontario farmer for baling this
year's hay and straw crops. UCO
has brought it into Ontario for
distribution by a specially
Stephen and George Thom
co-ordinated delivery program
'Thompson, designed to keep down some of
David Aiken and Paul Herman. the farmers' input costs.

' One night when it was dark and still
And all good folk were sleeping
Some vandals swiped poor pinky pig
And left old Bill a'weeping,
Two days and nights that pig was gone
The phone rang — what a thrill.
Your pig is standing on the dock
At Varna's old feed mill.
Now Pinky's on his pedestal
In front of Crawford's shop
With arm outstretched he shows the place
For customers to stop.
