Holmesville Public School presentation
and awards ceremony held
Certificates were presented at the. Holmesville ceremony to. all
Kindergarten students who will enter grade one in the fall. The
clasg included: front row (left to right) Cheryl Thompson, Jane

Holmesville Public School
held a presentation and awards
ceremony for award winners and
graduates of the school last
Thursday.
Seven graduating students
received awards for general and
subject proficiency. Each of the
award winners received a mint
set. Carole Weber and Drew
Middleton won the awards for
girls and boys general
proficiency. Wanda Malcolm was
the top English student while
Laurelanne Bond was best in
mathematics. Jane Harris won
the award for history, Sandra
Freeman for geography and
Wayne Hartman for science.
The junior and senior public
speaking winners were presented
with engraved pens. Wendy
Wizinowich• was first in the
senior division with Wanda
Malcolm second and Jane
Malcolm third. In the junior
section Linda Blake was first,
Robin Ormandy second and
Joanne McClinchey third.
Trophies were presented to
field day winners. Debbie
Torrance and Jerry Steegstra
won the girls -and boys senior
honours with Teresa Steegstra
and David Geddes winning in the
intermediate division. Janet
Steegstra and Gary Tebbutt were
the junior winners. Teresa
Steegstra also was presented
with a trophy for being top
intermediate girl in inter-school
competition. Gary Tebbutt also
won an inter-school
championship in junior boys
competition.
Certificates of graduation
were presented to members of
the graduating class while
kindergarten pupils were given
certificates.
Extended Health-Care benerits for
Ontario's growing population
Effective July 1st, 1970.

Chiropractors, Osteopaths
and Chiropodists (Podiatrists).
Starting July 1st, the widespread coverage and health benefits provided
by the Ontario Health Services Insurance Plan will be further extended.
Subscribers will be covered for the services of three more health-care
groups of practitioners—Chiropractors, Osteopaths
and Chiropodists (Podiatrists).
