Seaforth town limits resulted in
the death of John Edgar
Campbell, 98 West William
Street, Seaforth, and Kenneth
Hugh Betties, RR. 1, Seaforth.
A passenger in the Campbell
vehicle, Brian MacDonald, RR 1,
Blyth;' was, injured in the crash
which caused extensive damage
to both vehicles.
Saturdayv. January 3, on
county, road one at Belfast, a
vehicle operated by Anthony
Lorne, Dungannon, struck a
parked vehicle registered to
Irwin Campbell, RR 2,
Lucknow.
Both incidents were
investigated by OPP officers
from the Goderich detachment.

Cornelius Treffers died in
Clinton Public Hospital on
Monday, Dec. 29, 1969. He was
57 years of age, Death was the
result of a heart condition.
Mr. Treffers was born in
Holland on Dec. 9, 1912, to the
late Peter and Cornelia Treffers.
His schooling took place in
Holland. On May 19, 1937, he
married Gertrude Zolteman and
the couple lived in Holland for
the next 12 years.

3, 1929, to Albert Mero and the
former Laura Martin, she
attended St. Peter's Sepa/rate
School. She was married
November 11, 1969, in Goderich
to Thom's Ray Fry' who
survives.

Surviving besides his wife, are
two daughters, Mrs. Ben (Alice)
Greydanus of Sarnia, and Mrs.
Jake (Connie) de Haan of
Hamilton, and three
grandchildren. Two sisters and
three brothers, all in Holland,
also survive.
Funeral services were held
from the Beattie Funeral Home,
Clinton, with the Rev. Alvin
Beukema officiating. Burial was
in Clinton Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were:
Ben Greydanus, Sarnia; Jake de
Haan, Hamilton; Jo Verburg,
Londesboro; Ted Dragstra,
Goderich; ,Uilke Dykstra and
Frank vanAltena of Clinton.

MRS, MATILDA McKENZIE
Mrs. Matilda McKenzie died at
the Goderich Nursing Home
December 29 following a
lengthy illness. She was 99.
She was a daughter of John
Plunkett and the former Maria
Martyn and was born December
29; 1870, in West Wawanosh
Township. She was married
March 14, 1893, at the
homestead in West Waimanosh to
Robert A. McKenzie who
predeceased her.
Following marriage, she
resided in West Wawanosh until
1900 when she moved to
Ashfield Township. In 1907, she
Moved to Dungannon where she
was a life member and the only
remaining charter member of
Dungannon Women's Institute.
She 'was a member of
Dungannon United Church.
Survivors inclUde two
daughters, Mrs. Fred (C. Pearl)
Hall, Victoria, B,C. and Mrs.
Otto (Amber) Popp, Clinton; Six
grandchildren and 24 great
grandchildren, She was
predeceased by one son, Lorne
Marty!) McKenzie in 1957.
Funeral service was at the
Stiles Funeral Home 'December
31 with Rev, R. C. McClenaghatt
in charge,
Interment was in Dungannon
Cemetery, Pallbearers were Alvin

of her son, Brother Robert of
the Jesuit Order, who narrated
and showed colored slides of
India, which was very
interesting. Brother Robert, who
is home on a two-month leave,
will be returning to India in
February.
