Subsequent practices have been held almost every night. No coacti or manager for the team has been named yet al though negotiations have been under way for several months. The team plays in Dashwood Monday afternoon, then goes to Clinton a week later. First home game will be on Friday, June 4, when Dashwood “ ‘ their return tilt. The four—Exeter Legion Mo hawks, Dashwood Tigers, Zurich Flyers and Mitchell Legionaires— have spaced their additional games throughout the schedule. Because they are playing more games, these clubs will count only one point per win, while the other clubs will receive the regu lar two points. Monday will see the opening of the league and results of those games should give an indication of strength in the league. Dashwood Tigers, last year’s OHA “D” champions, are slated to meet Exeter Mohawks, defend ing Huron-Perth “C” champions, at the sports day in Dashwood. Two other powerful clubs, Strathroy Dodgers and Mitchell Legionaires, will play a home- and-home series the same day, Zurich Flyers won’t see action until Friday when they play hosts to Strathroy, Exeter Mohawks’ second game will be in Clinton the tribe tests the new crew on Monday, May 31. Innovation in the schedule is the annual all-star game which will be held at Mitchell this year. Instead of the usual north-south classic, a team of Huron-Perth stars will play Listowel Legion aires. He handles freight to and from Alaska by means of alu minum vans which are loaded, driven to the dock, and there lift ed by cranes from their chassis into the ship’s hold. Saves a lot of cargo handling, damage and pil fering. The vans can be individu ally heated or refrigerated to protect special cargoes, too. More than a thousand different Canadian companies keep busy turning Canadian-made alumi num into everything from ash trays to minesweepers. And it keeps us busy wondering how next they will use this modern metal to save weight, or time, or trouble, or dollars for somebody. Aluminum Company of Canada, Ltd. (Alcan).F. W.
