Heckler, Mr. William Gardiner, of Meh' ford, who has been ill in the Hamilton hospital, visited with Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Richards and was admitted to the South Huron Hospital for treatment. Mrs. Melvin Edwards is a pa­ tient in St. Joseph's Hospital, London. Mr. and Mrs. Garnet Murray, of London, spent the weekend I with Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Murray. Albert and Rueben Alderson, of near Parkhill, visit­ ed with their brother, Mr. Roy Alderson and family on Sunday. Mr. J. Willis Powell is ill in the South Huron Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Stanlake and Bobbie, of Plattsville, visited over Sunday with his father, Silas Stanlake and Mrs. Stan­ lake. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Crawford of Hanover visited with Mr. and Mrs. Oswald Crawford last Thurs­ day. Among the graduates of Uni­ versity of Western Ontario is Miss Shirley Langford, A.T.C.M., daughter of the Rev. 0. L, and Mrs, Langford of Trivitt Memor­ ial rectory. Miss Langford, a member of the staff of Toronto Public Schools, will receive her degree of B.A. at the convoca­ tion to be held in London on Saturday, May 30, at 3 p.m. Mrs. Thomas Bell and Mrs, Charles Stephens, of Elimville, attended the graduating exercises for the nurses of Victoria Hos­ pital held in the Beal Tech. School, London, Tuesday eve­ ning. Miss Alice Miller, of Dash­ wood, one of the graduates, Is Mrs. Thomas Bell’s granddaugh- tor. Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Beer, of Grand Bend, and Miss Mae Skin­ ner are visiting friends in Van­ couver. Mr. and Mrs. Will Chappell, of Hamilton, attended the funeral of Mrs. Earl Whiting, on Satur­ day and spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Victor Kestje and called on other friends around town. Vehicle Hits Pole, Cuts Electricity A section of Hensall was with­ out electricity Wednesday when a car knocked over a transformer and three other poles. The vehicle clipped the main pole about 1 p.m. The others fell under its weight. The car skidded across Richmond street, clipped a stop sign and stopped on the other side. Charged with being intoxicated in charge of a vehicle was Donald McKinnon, Hensall. He was taken to Goderich. Constables Lee Oesch and E. R. Davis investigated.
