The euchre and social evening sponsored by the Crediton W.I. in the Community Centre Friday evening attracted a large attend­ ance. Thirty-five tables were in play. Mrs. Motz expressed apprecia­ tion of support given during the past year aqd plans were made to serve a Coronation Tea, Mrs, R. Swartz presided for the program. Mrs. J. Bishop sang a solo. RADER Calvary Evangelical United Brethern Church, Dashwood, wilt be host April 29 - May 3, to the Annual Ontario Conference Session of that denomination. Approximately 100 ministers and lay members will attend the five- day session. There will also be meetings of various boards and committees on Monday and Tues­ day preceding the session. The Rev. J, Henry Getz is host pastor. president of the Conference is Bishop J. Balmer Showers, D.D., L.L.D. Giving leadership will also be the five Conference super­ intendents, the Rev. F. M. Faist, Stratford district; the Rev. C. H. Cornwell, Hanover district; the Rev. E. E. Pletch, Waterloo dis­ trict; the Rev. A- S. Caughell, Hamilton district; the Rev. E. N. Mohr, Ottawa district. General church officers who are to address the session in various capacities include, Dr. A. H. Doesclier, Daton, Ohio; Dr. Paul S. Milhouse, Harrisburg, Penn; Dr. E. D. Riebel, Naper­ ville, Ill; and Mr. Torrey Kaat, Toledo, Ohio. The Rev. J. V, Dahms of Crediton is Conference secretary. Preceding the official opening Wednesday night, April 29 by the Bishop, there will be a fellowship supper presided over by the host pastor. The session --”1 be representatives of the community, the ministerial as­ sociation and the congregation. The organization of the session for business will be preceded by a memorial service and also by Co ronation felicitations and prayer. The Rev. H. "E. Roppel, of Zurich, will presdie for the memorial service. Highlighting the session will be the consideration of recom­ mendations of the Board of Missions concerning church ex­ tension; the stationing of mini­ sters, and the Ordination Service Sunday morning, May 3. Music will be provided by the Calvary Church choir with assistance from the Crediton and Zurich choirs. The ladies of Calvary Church will be in charge of the meals served to delegates at the church and billeting will be in the homes of the congregation. This Conference is one of 47 Conferences of the Evangelical United Brethren Church, eight of which are in Europe, Asia and Africa. Majority of the Confer­ ences are in the United States. Mr. Herb Willert is on the sick list, Town Entertains Fire Department The Town Fathers entertained the fire 'brigade to a turkey dinner Wednesday, April 15. Following this the volunteer fire brigade was appointed with two new members added. They are: V. L. Becker, fire chief.
