Flyers, Colts
In Keen Series
The Centralia Flyers - Clinton
Colts play-off battle will be one
of the hottest and toughest seen
in this district for a long time if
Monday night’s encounter was
any indication.
In what many fans called the
best game of the season in the
local arena, the Flyers edged the
Colts 7-6 in the first game of
the series.
Nineteen penalties were called
as rising tempers prompted slash
ing and high-sticking.
. The Flyers had to outscore the
visitors 3-1 in the third period to
take the win. Clive Wilberforce
fired the victory marker with less
than three minutes to go.
The teams were tied 3-3 in the
first period and the Colts led 5-4
in the second.
Marksmen for the Flyers were
Johnson, Embury, Todd, Wilber
force and Ellis.
For the Colts, Cclquhoun scored two.
The Flyers played in Clinton
Wednesday night and return to
Exeter Saturday.
