Ilderton Wins McMillan Trophy, Leads League For Second Year Ilderton intermediates retained the McMillan trophy for the sec­ ond year in a row as the Cyclone league finished its schedule last week. Two of the league's hottest rivals, Lucan Irish and Zurich Flyers, tfed for second spot with 10 wins and four losses apiece. Each won a victory ovei’ the other during the season. Forest, new team in the league this year, wound up in fourth place because of a slump near the end of the season. An “A” team, the Forest crew were a threat all year with Ted Garvin sparking their attacks. St. Marys claims fifth spot with a 6-8 record. Exeter took seventh, two points ahead Dashwood and Hensall, tied the cellar. Dashwood Edges St. Marys Dashwood Tigers captured their third win of the season by nip­ ping St. Marys 7-6 Thursday night. The Tigers came from behind in the last five minutes of the third period to score two goals. Rousseau was the spark for the winners with four markers. Klein, Spahr and Rouleau were the other marksmen. For St. Marys, Boyd fired three goals, Wraith two and Vowel one. The Irish scored four goals in the third period to thwart the Tigers’ bid for an upset, Dash­ wood held the Irish at bay for the first half of the game and tied the score at 2-2 at the 15- minute mark of the second per­ iod. In what many fans called the best game of the season in the local arena, the Flyers edged the Colts 7-6 in the first game of the series. Nineteen penalties were called as rising tempers prompted slash­ ing and high-sticking. . The Flyers had to outscore the visitors 3-1 in the third period to take the win. Clive Wilberforce fired the victory marker with less than three minutes to go. The teams were tied 3-3 in the first period and the Colts led 5-4 in the second. Marksmen for the Flyers were Johnson, Embury, Todd, Wilber­ force and Ellis. For the Colts, Cclquhoun scored two. The Flyers played in Clinton Wednesday night and return to Exeter Saturday.
