Rev. Leonard Schnell of
London, representing the
Canadian Bible Society had
charge of the Services in Varna
and Goshen United Churches
last Sunday. A canvass of the
community will be held during
the next couple of weeks.
The Explorer Group met last
Tuesday evening with 12
members present. The president
Bev. Cantelon opened the
meeting. The scripture lesson
was read by Anne Marie Heard.
Prayer was by Bev. Cantelon.
The Roll Call was answered by
"What Christmas means to you".
The offering was taken up by
Judy Frisby. The Study Book
was led by Mrs. Barry Taylor
followed by Crafts. The
president closed the meeting
with the Explorer prayer.
The December meeting of the
United Church Women will be
held on Thursday evening of this
week in the Church.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred McClymont
returned home last Friday after
spending a week with relatives at
Guelph, King City and
-Willowdale.
Rev. Murdock Morrison was a
patient in Victoria Hospital last
week.
Mr. and Mrs. Bob McClymont,
Michael and Shannon of Guelph

United Church Women of Knox
United church met in the
. Sunday School room of the
church last Wednesday with Unit
2 in charge.
The pianist was Mrs, James
Jackson. Mrs, Bert Marsh opened
the meeting. The scripture lesson
was read by Mrs. Robert Arthur
followed by prayer. The offering
was received by Mrs. Ted Mills
and Mrs. Robert Arthur.
A solo was sung by Mrs.
Gordon Chamney. An
interesting skit was presented by
Mrs. Bert Marsh, Mrs. Maurice
Bean, Mrs. Stanley Ball, Mrs.
Dorothy Grange and Mrs. Elliott
Lapp.

Achievement Day last Saturday

giving reasons.

An interesting film on keeping
fit was shown by Miss Hunt.
The afternoon's program
began with Tiger Dunlop's skit,
Milk's the Greatest with all
members taking part. Tiger
Dunlop II spoke on their
exhibit, Three Ways with Cheese
with Karen McPhee and Marie
Willis as commentators.
All members of Holmesville
III presented the skit, Snack Bar
using dairy products.
Holmesville II had Lauralanne
Bond and Carole Weber speak on
their exhibit, There's Magic in
Milk.
Auburn I presented the Milk
Bar with Arva Ball as bartender
and Joanne Hickey and Doreen
McClinchey as the waitresses
assisted by Karen and Sandra
McClinchey. The other members
were customers who ordered
dairy products rather than chips
and cokes.
The many forms of ,milk was
an interesting exhibit set up by
Holmesville I and Sharon Potter
and Bonnie Westbrook
commented on it. Goderich II
members presented the Gourmet
in Dairyland using the favorite
T.V. character as a take-off.
Auburn II had an interesting
exhibit, There's Magic in Milk
with Lorraine Chamney as
commentator assisted by Doris
Naylor. Goderich I members
presented the skit, Milk's the
Greatest and Auburn III
presented a demonstration,
Dairy Dips and Snacks with
Cathy McClinchey
commentating and Margaret
Franken and Barbara Empey
demonstrating the various tasty
snacks and dips.
