Bernasconi in Ontario Street United Church Clinton. The Rev Herb Wonfor officiated at the double ring ceremony, Miss Carolyn Hibbert, London was organist and accompanied the soloist, Mrs. Mary Hearn who sang the Wedding Hymn. The bride is the daughter of Mr, W. H. Grasby and the late Mrs. Grasby of Blyth. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Bernasconi of Regina Saskatchewan. Given in marriage by her father the bride wore a gown of Swiss embroidery over taffeta. The fitted bodice was styled with a high neckline and long sleeves with pointed cuffs. Her fingertip v eil was held in place by a silo er tiara, She carried a white Bible decorated with pink rosebuds and white stephanotis. Matron of honor was Mrs. Alice Andrews and Miss Dale Bernasconi was bridesmaid. They wore identical gowns of pink polyester crepe trimmed with white lace. They wore tiny pink daisies in their hair and carried nosegays of white shasta daisies and pink straw flowers. Best man was Arthur Aiken of Clinton. Guests were ushered by EV erett Grasby, brother of the bride and Wayne Grasby, nephew of the bride, both of London. A reception was held in the church parlour, Guests were received by Mrs. Roy Cope London wearing a turquoise dress and corsage of white carnations, The groom's sister IVars. Irene Pearce of Regina Sash, wore a yellow brocade dress and corsage of white carnations. For going away the bride wore a maw e and white checked dress with fitted jacket with white accessories. They will live ih Montreal where the groom is stationed. Guests were from Regina London, Myth and Beigrate. Prior to the wedding, showers were held by relatives at the home of Mrs. Roy Cope Landon; IVIra. Archie Montgomery Raltat Brussels of former neighbors; by Mrs. Doe Andrews, Mrs. Art Aiken and Mrs. Jean Crawford at the home of Mrs, Andrews of teachers from Clinton and Seaforth Public Schools and friends; by Mrs. Ralph McCrea; by Mrs. Winona McDougall; and by the Goderich Treble Singers for whom the bride has been accompanist. Rev. and Mrs. Wonfor entertained the choir of Ontario Street Church at their home and the bride was presented with a set of luggage. Seaforth Public School entertained at a dinner at Zurich and Clinton Public School entertained at a dinner in Goderich. Presentations were also made by the congregation of Ontario Street Church and also by the ladies of the U.C.W. The bride was music supervisor in Clinton and Seaforth Schools and has been organist at Ontario Street Church for the past 15 years. Obituary MRS. CLARA MASKELL Funeral services were conducted from McCailt'm Funeral Home Friday,August 13 under the direction of Rev. G. L. Royal for Mrs. Clara Maskell of Goderich who died Wednesday at the age of 93. The former Clara Jewell, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Jewell of Ashfield Township, Mrs. Maskell was born April 24, 1878 and, lived to Ashfield and Colborne Townships before moving to Goderich in 1945. The late Mrs. Maskell was a member of the North Street United Church, a former member of the Benmiller W. A., Red Cross Society and a member of the Home League of the Salvation Army. She is survived by her children, Arthur, of Colborne Township, Mrs. Reg (Cepha) Bell of Goderich and Mrs, Milford (Ina Mae) Durst of Clinton. She is also survived by two granddaughters and three great grandchildren. She was predeceased by three brothers and five Sisters. Pallbearers were Harry Jenkins, Bert McCabe, Harold Good, Wallace Avery, Joe I'ri ddle and Reg. Jewell. Interment was in Colborne Cemetery. Wesley—Willis United church, Clinton was decorated with baskets of white cosmos and pink carnations on Friday July 9 for the evening wedding of William Clarence Hoggarth and Lia Maria Wammes, The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs, Glen Price, RR 2, Clinton and the bride, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Adrian Wammes, RR 3, Clinton, Rev. H.W. Wonfor officiated at the double.ring ceremony. Organist was Lorne H. Potterer and soloist, Mrs, Fred McGregor who sang 0 Perfect Love and the Lord's Prayer. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a corded taffeta dress. Spanish lace circled the collar, cuffs and chapel train which fell from the neck. She wore a chapel-length veil fastened, with a tiara. She carried a white Bible with red sweetheart roses and white stephanotis strewn with white streamers. Maid of honour was Miss Sandra Buruma of RR 2, Clinton who wore a full-length blue sheer voile gown, styled with empire bustline and low neck. The midriff had white lacing and the long skirt had a frill at the bottom. She carried white shasta daisies and pink carnations. Bridesmaids were Elle Wammes and Heather Price, BY MRS. MAUDE HEDDEN A pretty summer wedding took place on Saturday, August 7, 1971 at 3:30 p.m. in Hensall United Church uniting in marriage Catherine Anne Scane and Niel Arthur Edgar. Against a background of candelabra and baskets of white gladioli and maw e and yellow chrysanthemums, the do tab le- r ing ceremony was performed by Rev. Harold F. Currie of Sebringv ille, formerly of Hensall'. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs, Howard Scane of Hensel' and the groom is the son of Mrs, Arthur Edgar and the late Mr, Edgar of Wingham. Given in marriage by her father the bride wore a flooe length gown of white satin organza. White lace ruffles, sprayed her bodice and cuffed her full wrist length Juliet sleeves. Ruffles again trimmed the front of her A-line skirt; and a Victorian neckline accented her full waist-length bodice. A detachable train flowed gracefully from the back waist. Her floor-length veil of silk illusion was edged with the same lace. She carried a bouquet of white roses, carnations and stephanotis, with an rchid corsage in the centre. Mrs. GB. Tucker of London was matron of honour for her aister. Miss Anne Clarke of Toronto the bride's cousin and Miss Donna Edgar of Wingham sister of the groote were bridesmaids. All were gowned in floor length dresses of maw e and whitey oile w er taffeta, and wore maw e picture hats. They tarried nosegays of white larlioll and yellow both dressed identically to the maid of honour. Groomsman was Len Wilson of London and ushers were Arnold Crich of Clinton and Harold Jantal of Holmesville. , Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Clinton Legion Hall where the bride's mother received guests. She wore a pink, lace princess-line dress with V-neck and flat collar and full-length, pleated sleeves. Her corsage was of red sweetheart roses and white carnations. She was assisted by the groom's mother who wore a sheer blue, printed patterned dress with long, sheer sleeves. She wore a white corsage. For the wedding trip to Northern Ontario the bride wore a pink lace hot pants suit and white accessories. The couple will live at RR 3„ Clinton. Guests attended the wedding from Espanola, Barrie, South Porcupine, Blenheim, London, Ottawa, Seaforth, Bothwell and Holland. Prior to her wedding, the bride was guest of honour at showers given by Miss Elle Wammes and Miss Carol Steepe, Miss Sandy Buruma, Mrs. Dianne Mallough and Mrs. Arnold Crich and Mrs. Linda Wilson, chrysanthemums, Terry Merkley of Wingham was grromsmen and guests were ushered by John White of Calgary and Keith Moffat of Bluev ale. Soloist, Miss Bernice Galbraith of London, was accompanied by organist Mrs. John Turkheim. Following the ceremony, guests were entertained at the home of the bride's parents and the dinner and dance followed at the Candlelight Restaurant in Goderich, The young couple left for a honeymoon in Northern Ontario and on their return, will reside in Wingham. Guests were present from Toronto Kingston London, Winghan' Petrolia Tilsonburg Ridgetown, Blenheim, Brentford, Bluev ale, Blyth and Hensall, Prior to the wedding several showers were held in honour of the bride. Hostesses were Mrs. Robert Cook, and her daughter Mrs. Robert Wilkin of London at the former's house in Hensall; Mrs. Chas. Johnston of Blyth, Mrs. Keith Moffat of Bluev ale, Miss Ann Mickle of Toronto at the home of her mother Mrs. Laird Mickle of Hensel'. The staff of Northbrae Public School in London where the bride has been teaching also entertained in Cathy's honour and presented her with a gift, On Saturday July 31st Mrs. Howard Scene held a tea in honour of her daughter. Pouring tea in the afternoon were Mrs. hazy ty Edgar of Wingham and Mrs. Walter Spencer of Hensall. In the evening Mrs. Arthur Edgar Sr. of Wingham grandmother of the groom and Mrs, Norman Cook of Hensall, presided at the tea table. Assisting were Mrs. Robert Cook, Mrs. Lorne Chapman, Mrs. G.I3. Following the rehearsal Friday veiling the bridal party were entertained at the home at the groorri's mother in Wingham. Mrs. Chamberlain is the former Miss Joan Arlene McNeil, daughter of Mr, and Mrs. Ray McNall, Fergus. Rev, H. J. Herlihey heard the marriage vows and Bruce Nuhn was organist for the ceremony. Rev. D. R. Beck delivered an inspiring message and flowers in the church sanctuary were in loving memory of the late Robert H. Boyce, placed by his family. Mr. William Hedden, Niagara Falls; Mr. Orville Hedden, St. Catharines; and Mrs. Kathleen Wilson, St. Catharines; were weekend visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Herb Hedden. Miss Ann Hoggarth and Mrs. Jim Downs, London, visited on. Sunday with friends in the village and attended service in Hensall United Church, A.C.W. MEETS The A.C.W. of St. Paul's Church was held on August 12 at the home of Mrs. R. Middleton. The president opened the meeting with the Members' Prayer. The minutes were read and approved, Mrs. Mary Taylor and Mrs. P. attended his brother as best man and ushers were Donald Miller of Kitchener and Allan McNeil of Fergus, the bride's brother, The wedding dinner was held in the church hall and the reception was held at the Steelworkers' Hall. Out-of-town guests attended from London, Lucknow, Hensall, Zurich, Clinton, Londesboro, Elora, Kitchener, Elmira, Burlington, Brantford, Sudbury, Ingersoll, Belwood, Gait, Guelph, and Mount Clemens, Michigan. Mrs. Ian Somerville of Port Credit entertained friends of Miss Joan McNeil at a shower in her honor before her recent wedding. The bride was honoured at another shower given by Mrs. Grant Shafer, Pleasant Rd., Guelph, Ontario. Miss McNall has taught at Clarkson for the past two years. Forrest reported on the hay entertaining at the Queensway Nursing Home. Mrs. R. Middleton, Mr. and Mrs. F, Forrest and Mr. Don McCurdy provided musical entertainment. Miss Olive Petty, Mrs. Mary Taylor, Mrs. Annie Reid and Mrs. F. Clark assisted in the playing of Bingo, It was decided to set the date for the bazaar and bake sale at the next meeting. The topic was taken by Mrs. W, Scrabuik, "Love In Action". The highlights of the evening came when Rev, G. A. and Mrs. Anderson showed slides of their recent trip to Ireland and England, Rev. C. A. Anderson closed the meeting with prayer. A large crowd attended the reception in Zurich Community Centre Saturday evening for Mr, and Mrs, Larry McLean, R.
