Londesboro 1st Cub Pack
held a weekend from Sunday to
Monday camp at the Benmiller
Conservation Area with 16 cubs
attending. Cub Leader Jeff Hyde
was in charge of.the camp with
the assistance of Frank
Johnston, Gordon Shobbrook
and Stan McDonald. The boys
enjoyed hiking and cooking out
as well as sports events.
Mr. and Mrs. Bert Shobbrook
spent Sunday and Monday in
Woodstock with their daughter
Mr. arid Mrs. Ross Millson and
family.
Miss Lloy Shaddick is
spending three days this week
with a group from Drumbo
School at Huronia Midland.
Mr. Jeff Shaddick of
Kitchener and Miss Karen 'den
of Bridgeport spent the weekend
with his parents Mr. and Mrs.
Allen Shaddick and Lloy.
Mrs. Glen Carter spent the
weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Earl
Hilborn of Thedford.
Mr. and Mrs. Ken Armstrong
and family of Stratford spent
the holidays with Ihis parents Mr.
and Mrs. Jack Armstrong. Mrs.
Laura Lyon spent the past week,
with her daugher Mr. and Mrs.
Ron Neal of London.
Mrs. Laura Saundercock, Mr.
and Mrs. Clifford Saundercock
called on the family of their
cousin, the late Mr. Elmer
Danby at Brussels.
The village was saddened to
hear Mr, Wilmer Howatt had
passed away Thursday morning
after being in Victoria Hospital
London for the past two
months. Sympathy is extended
to Mrs. Howatt and family.
Mr, and Mrs. iVie Duizer
moved into the termer Picket
house the past week. We
welcome them to the village.
Mrs. H. Livingstone lost her
budgie bird Joey last week. If
anyone knows of his
whereabouts Mrs. Livingstone
would be glad to know.

holiday weekend with Mr. and
Mrs, B. Shobbrook and with Mr.

A large crowd gathered at the
Huliett Central School ball park
on Monday night, May 24,
where Mr. McKay and the
students put a display of
fireworks to celebrate Victoria
Day which was much enjoyed by
"all.
Mr. John Riley held a lucky
ticket on the Kinsmen hockey
draw on Monday night,
winning $500.
Mr. Will Govier and Mrs.
Lillie Webster spent Sunday
evening at Benmiller
conservation area park as guests
of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hamilton.
The members of the Aimwell
unit wish to thank everyone who
helped in any way with the ham
supper on May 19 when over
300 enjoyed the supper.

The Brownies were greeted by
their new Patrol Leaders as they
went through the flower covered
arch from the Brownie Ring to
join the Guide Horseshoe.
After the ceremony was
completed the Brownie Packs
joined the Guides for a sing
song. Refreshments were served
to the parents. The evening
concluded with the Guide
Campfire and the singing of the
Brownie and Guide Taps.

The May meeting of the
Kippen U.C.W. was held May 13
evening in the church Sunday
School rooms with 22 members
present. Mrs. Emerson Anderson
conducted the worship — the
theme being "The Road to
Egypt." She opened with prayer
and by singing Hymn 444 then
Scripture taken from Matthew,
Chapter 2, Verses 1-16. One
verse of Hymn 445 was sung.
Mrs. Anderson was assisted
by Mrs. John Cooper and Mrs.
Edison McLean in recalling
Biblical accounts of memorable
nights. Worship closed with a
hymn and prayer. The presiding
President, Mrs. John Anderson
opened the meeting with an
appropriate poem "May
Journey" and welcomed
everyone.. The roll call was
anstvered by • each member.,
presenting a tea towel for the
newly completed kitchen. The
Topic was taken by Mts. Ronald
McGregor and centered around
her work as a teacher at Huron
}lope School for the Mentally
Retarded. Statistics, slides of the
children, as well as a display and
explanation of teaching aids
used in the school made it
interesting and informative.
Business was conducted by
the president. Meetings of
importance are Huron-Perth
Presbyterial Retreat June 16,
Goderich North St. Church and
Westminster Weekend 28-36. A
donation was made to Clinton
Public Hospital Auxiliary. The
Explorer Leader, Mrs. David
Turner, offered to donate glass
bowls to the new kitchen. It was
decided to have a Strawberry
Supper Wednesday, June 30.
Advance Tickets will be sold —
Adults, $2.00, Children under
12 years, $1.00.
Mrs. Bert Fabet will act as
press reporter until December
1911.. A heartfelt and
appreciative vote of thanks was
extended to the kitchen
committee by Mrs. Emerson
Ryle. Special thanks to Mr. end
Mrs. Keith Lovell who donated a
refrigerator and Mr. and Mrs.
Robert Elgie who donated the
kitchen light fixtures.
The regular June meeting will
be a special occasion for all
U.O.W. Members and the guest
speaker will be the new Director
of the Children$s Aid Society —
Mr. Bruce Heath. A film is to be
shown: "Wherever there are
children." Mrs. David Turner
extended courtesy remarks on
behalf of the grOup. Lunch was
served by hostesses Mrs, John
Cooper and Mrs. Laird
Finlayson.
