truck, The showroom has been in the planning stages for eight months and was built to

New Works employees
In a special meeting held Monday night hi
the town hall, Clinton town council
approved the hiring of two new employees.
Allan Hutchings of Bayfield and Ceeil
in have been hired by the public works.

May 12, 1971, Frank Glew of
Clinton in his 94th year. He was
predeceased by his wife, the
former Ann Roberts. Two sons,
Harold and William and a
daughter, Mrs. Abe (Lillian)
Orpen, all of Clinton, survive
him. The funeral• service was
held at Beattie Funeral Home on

trophies and cash prizes, a mammoth dance
will be held until 1 a.m. to the music of Don
Robertson and the CKNX Ranch Boys.
For any camping enthusiasts, a camping
grounds will be set up in the park directly
behind the Hensail Arena. This Fiddler's
Contest could prove to be one of the largest
events to be held in Hensall for many years.

The reports presented at the
May meeting of the Auxiliary to
the Clinton Public Hospital
showed many hours of work
contributed by dedicated
volunteers,
The Bursary Committee,
headed by Mrs. W. T. Harrett, is
awarding the annual bursaries to
student nurses, the
advertisement for admission
requirements being found
elsewhere in this paper.
Membership is under the
capable convenership of Mrs.
Ted Davies, and to date 156
people have purchased
memberships in the Auxiliary.
Mrs. E. W. Ryan, convener of
the Vanishing Parties, reported
$429 turned in.
For Hospital Day on May 12,
the Auxiliary sent special
placemats to the local
restaurants to commemorate
Florence Nightingale Day,
A list of magazine
subscriptions for women, men
and children was presented to
the meeting by Mrs. Doug Ball.
These are to be bought by the
Auxiliary for patient reading.
Mrs. Ball also reported on the
furniture placed in the second
floor solarium. To complete the
area, three chairs, a settee and
two tables, all in 'California
Redwood, were purchased for
the balcony. Mrs. Cliff Epps
donated a Grecian urn, and with
the flower boxes, it is hoped
that many a patient will enjoy
his recuperation in our hospital.
Mrs. A. J. McMurray very
kindly donated two carved
wooden lamps, to be placed in

H.C.M.S.A. was held in The
Conference Room of The
Goderich Psychiatric Hospital
and was well attended.
Mrs. Kay Hodgkinson opened
the meeting and welcomed
everyone present especially the
visitors. The minutes were read
and the treasurer's report was
given. There was no further
business,
Mrs. Donna Fischer
introduced our guest speaker,
`Miss Nanette Ouellette who
introduced the new products of
Holiday Magic. She very
appropriately described the
culture of beauty used by people
from ancient times to the
products of the most modern
times made by "Holiday Magic".
Her demonstration and eloquent
talk was enjoyed by all. Mrs.
Elaine Ayers moved a vote of
thanks to our speaker, seconded
by Mrs. Kay Hodgkinson, A
lovely lunch was served by The
Goderich ladies,
The next meeting to be held
at The Seaforth Medical Clinic.

convener of the travelling cart,
She is moving to Kingston. The
Auxiliary expressed its regret at
her leaving and thanked Betty
and the many other wives of
service personnel who have
contributed of their time and
talent to the work of the
hospital. Mrs. Harry Ball offered
to take over the cart duties for
the remainder of the term.
The Women's Institute of
Clinton is "pushing" the cart the
month of May.
Because of a shortage of
flower vases in the hospital, it
was decided that the June
meeting be a "Flower Vase
Shower". This meeting will be
held at the summer home of
Mrs. L. P. Walden on June 7,
Our chairman for District H,
Mrs. Mary Hayes, will be
present. This is a pot luck
luncheon and please bring own
chair, cutlery and china. This is
an invitation to all women
interested in the work of the
hospital. If transportation is
needed, please call Mrs. Ed

The Florence Nightingale Tea
was discussed, and plans were
made for the opening of the
solarium and the serving of tea
in the Board Room. The public
is invited to view the two new
solaria, the third floor being
furnished by the Clinton
Kinettes.
Mrs. W. T, Harrett spoke on
her recent trip to the Hospital
Volunteer Services Institute in
Toronto. She brought back
many suggestions and ideas that
could be utilized in our hospital
to further the cause of patient
comfort.
