I BAKER HOSPITAL Santa..Claus hcis Been a. fre­ quent caller the‘ past few days, at the Baker Private Hospital, and around the Christmas tree in the living room has accumulated ;a big pile of gifts from onganiza- individuals, iMiniature trees are in the various looms of the- hospital residents, which adorned with their personaL cards and gifts. • ' ' The Baker Hospital capacity of thirty .patients /is generally fully occupied. At present, of this num­ ber, about half are. “up” patients, and the others confined tb bed. No effort is being spared by both staff and management to make it a happy Christmas for them all. The home, .comfortably heated by hot water, heating, has a staff of twelve. Mr. Baker, the propri­ etor, still unable to work as a result of serious injuries received in a motor accident in the fall, is,' however,, not prevented from making future plans,, which . in­ clude. the .extension of a wing, to the north'of the present building. . Mr,. John McRae is a patient in Wingham Hospital with pneu­ monia. Mrs. Emerson. Irwin is able to be up briefly each day after 'be­ ing. confined to bed for three weeks with a heart condition. Of note,, however, was the de­ cision to enforce the statute in respect to “minors” frequenting the pool room. The funeral service^was held at the McLennan-MacKenzie Mem­ orial Chapel on Wednesday, De­ cember 16th, conducted by Rev. G. A. Meiklejohn. Interment was in Greenhill Cemetery. The pall­ bearers were Georgy Andrew, Kenneth Murdie, Earle Hodgins, George Stuart, Tom Hodgins and Jack Hodgins. . Mrs. Hodgins is survived by her “Arthur hasn’t been out one night for three weeks’’. “Has he turned over a new leaf?” * ‘ Nope! Turned over, his dad’s 1 new car”. MRS. EDWARD N. HODGINS | This community was deeply § grieved upon learning of therxj^ death of Mrs. Edward N. Hod-, “ gins of Lucknow which occurred in Hamilton General Hospital on Monday,, December. 14th. Mrs. Hodgins’ death was due to a bronchial asthma condition which had grown worse during the past months. She had gone to Hamil­ ton a few weeks before to spend the. Winter with Mr. and "Mrs.- Glen Moore.
