Hi Highlights

A set of thirteen bugles has

not be so hard when they im

If you see any of our girls
with a brighf pin made of
shells, don’t be too quick in
judging that she has been to
Florida or the sea shore. She is
more likely just a fan of our
.craft club. Miss Ferguson is in
charge of it during the half
hour activity period on Wednes
days and Fridays. The girls
make costume jewellry that is
pretty and inexpensive,
Wednesday is a super day for
all of us. After that the next
bells we heai* had better be
sleigh bells and not the buzzer
that calls us to assembly or
some such scholastic reminder.
In fact if you will promise to
smile at least, ‘‘We are not go

When the concert part of
our going home party has been
taken care of there will be a
dance to records. Incidentally
the records at these dances are
vei*y new and the effect is us
ually ‘‘sweet and lovely” when
the boys are not outnumbered
by a score of three to one. Oc
casionally one of our more am
bitious students will decide to
play the piano and someone
else calls a square dance.
Everybody tries hard to do it
properly but we usually finish
asking “How square can you
get”. While some of us are
dancing, others, will trip off to
the Home Economics room for
a snack. This is our present
from the staff and will be a
pleasant surprise to all of us.

Caution urged
To oil MOTORISTS
and PEDESTRIANS
This is an urgent appeal to all citizens, motorists and pedestrians alike
to co-operate earnestly in keeping down the death and accident toll
on Ontario streets and highways.
Care and caution in driving and walking are necessary at all times—
but particularly so in the holiday season.
December is a dangerous mQnth, with more hours of darkness and
changeable weather conditions. Preoccupied shoppers, young and
old, are abroad in great numbers. In the excitement of Christmas
time, people sometimes tend to forget their customary caution.
As the end of 1948 approaches, let us all join together in determining
that for the whole Province we will make it a safe as well as a happy
Christmas and New Year.
