Jack and Sylvia Henderson who are vacationing in England while walking down a street in London, England, had a pleasant surprise when they ran into Miss Nancy Kyle who is also on vacation in Europe. At Hensall Women's Institute home and economics meeting in the Legion Hall Wednesday, guests for the evening will be Seaforth and Kippen East branches. Mr. Howie Wright who is on the staff of the Exeter Times-Advocate, has purchased the property of Mr. Harry Page on Nelson Street and gets possession in the near future. Jack Caldwell has accepted a position in the office at Hensall Motors Sales. Mrs. Alice Campbell of Exeter, who recently celebrated her 90th birthday is visiting with her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Campbell. • Jack Boyd, 34, 58 Paddington Ave., London, a foriner Hensall resident, earlier this week was reported in critical condition in Victoria Hospital in London with head and chest injuries sustained when his car skidded off wet pavement on Highway 401, hit a guard rail and went over an embankment Sept. 16. The accident occurred as Mr. Boyd was returning home from work. He remained unconscious after the crash. Jack is the son of Mrs. Cornelius .Faber of RR 3, Exeter. GODBOLT—SIMMONS The Rev. Harold F'. Currie officiated last Saturday at the wedding of Lois Elaine Simmons and George Albert Godbolt. The bride is the daughter of Mr, and Mrs. John F. Simmons of Hensall. The bridegroom is. the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Godbolt of Exeter. White gladioli and white mums amid candelabra set the scene in Hensall United Church. Glenn Cooper of Toronto was organist and Ted Wilson. of Exeter was soloist. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor-length, sleeveless gown of lagoda, fashioned on empire lines with the bodice and wedding band neckline overlaid with guipure lace. The matching long-sleeved coat and aisle-wide train were enhanced with applique designs of the same lace. She carried a cascade of red roses and white mums. The bridesmaids, Mrs. Joan Middleton-ofsaWinghamrsiskaarfa the bride; London and Jacqueline Simmons of Hensall, sister of the bride, wore raspberry red Juliet gowns. The junior bridesmaid, Carolynne Dale Simmons of Hensall, sister of the bride, wore a white satin crepe gown with a raspberry sash and pink and white carnations. All the attendants carried cascades of red roses and pink and white carnations. John Godbolt of Exeter was best man. Ushers were Wayne Ratz of Sarnia and Wayne Snyder of Kitchener. The reception was held in the Hensall Community Centre. The newlyweds will live in Forest where the bridegroom, a graduate of the University of Western Ontario, is teaching at North Lambton Secondary School, KIPFBR WEJKOWSKI A quiet wedding was solemnized at the Exeter Pentecostal church on Friday evening, Sept, 12, when Krystin Weilcowski and Daniel Thomas Xipfer exchanged marriage vows in a double-ring ceremony before the Rev, F. L. Rhude. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Welkowski of London, formerly of Blyth, and the groom's parents are Mr, and Mrs. Cecil Kipfer, Hensall. Mrs. Norman Tait, Hensall, provided 'traditional wedding music. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a tiered, white, short gown and carried a single, long-stemmed red rose with a red velvet ribbon, The attendants were Mr. and Mrs. John Joynt of Hensall, Mrs. Joynt wore a green dress with white lace over and a gold corsage. Following a short honeymoon the couple will reside in Hensall temporarily. CHISELHURST CHURCH Chiselhurst United Church observed anniversary services Sunday afternoon at 2:30 with a large congregation. The Rev. Harold F. Currie conducted the service and introduced the Rev. Douglas Warren of Crediton, who delivered a very inspiring message. Eric Ross was guest soloist. Saxophone duets were rendered by Murray Christie and Aldon Allan of Staffa. The choir was joined by Mr. and Mrs. Harry Horton. Mrs. Alfred Ross was at the piano. CHISELHURST UCW The theme song and prayer opened the September meeting of Chiselhurst United Church Women. Mrs. Russell Brock presented the worship service. The Bible study was given by Mrs. Harold Currie. Mrs. Clarence Coleman offered the missionary prayer. A trio composed of Mr. Thos. Brintnell, Mrs. Richard Taylor and Mrs.. Jack Brintnell sang. The annual bazaar was set for Oct. 29. aaaELIZA,BEXITMcNICHOL Funeral services for Elizabeth (McCallum) McNichol, widow of the late James McNichol who died in Seaforth Community Hospital, Sunday in her 86th year, were held Sept. 23 at the R. S. Box Funeral Home, Seaforth, with burial in Brussels Cemetery. Ross McNichol of Hensall is a son. * * * Of 1,200 drownings, 377 or 31.4 per cent were children under the age of fifteen. Males out-numbered females about 6 to 1. Mrs, Helen Davies, convener of the annual penny sale held by the Women's Auxiliary to the Clinton Public Hospital, said Tuesday that tallies were not finished, :but that proceeds this year should be about the same ,P in 1968 when the event netted more than $800 for purchase of hospital equipment. Mrs. Davies thanked the donors of merchandise and cash, the many workers who gave of their time and the people who bought all 3,000 of the sale tickets. Clinton winners included Mrs, W.
