Dashwood took Ilderton straight in the semi-finals, ning at home 17-5 and at Ilder­ ton 9-8. Exeter also won their round in two games against Lucan, winning the second 10-7 after taking the first tilt at home 6-5. During the season the two top teams now fighting it out in ■games. In that frame Exetei’ scored six times. Essery scored two of them two-base knock. Dashwood rallied in seventh and eighth. In the big inning, Gossman scored on an Exetei- miscue. Gaiser brought in two more with a single and W,ebb drove in the fourth on a double. In the eighth Gossman and Tetreau singled and Guen­ ther walked. All three runners scored. With Dashwood closing in on their lead, .Exeter clinched the victory in the last half of the eighth. Taylor came in on Hun­ kin’s single and the Exeter short stop scored on Coates’ one-base blow. Besides overshadowing her op­ ponent twelve struck three. was Jean Wein’s triple in the fifth. Both teams committed seven errors. They will now meet Wingham for the group championship. Thornton toed the rubber for Centralia with Arm­ strong behind the plate, while Kennedy and O’Shea made up the battery for the Bosharts. “B” Group Series The R.C.A.F. nine made it two straight over Grand Bend Mon­ day night with an 8-5 win. Cook and Rhude shared the pitching chore for /.he winners, while Masse shoved them across for Grand Bend. Centralia won the first contest by a 14-4 score. “C” Group Series Dublin earned the right to ad­ vance into the next, playoff round with two wins over Crediton. The first game was by a 17*7 score while Monday night’s tus­ sle ended 9-7. They will prob­ ably meet Sylvian in the next i meet the winner of the Centralia- St. Marys set. “O’* • Group Playoffs In the “A” series, the Clinton Colts have won two straight from the Mitchell Legionnaires. This is a best-of-five series. At Mitchell last Wednesday night the Colts trampled their opposi­ tion 11-0 and back home Friday night won 8-1. In the ‘,B” series, the Lucan Irish came up with their second straight win over Zurich Monday night. The first game, in Lucan, was by a 14-4 count but hack in Zurich the home team dropped a close 4-2 tilt. The “C” series is all tied up at one game apiece. On their home diamond Wednesday night Hensall took Dashwood 6-1 but back in Dashwood Ray Yelle shutout the Hensall nine by a 5-0 score.
