Teams in Action Again
Old Man Winter tightened his, hind to gain their two points
grip on things in this district
during, the past few days with
the, result that district fans have
been able tp rally at the Arena
again to take in the scheduled
two. double-header performances,
Friday night they saw the
good and bad in W.O.A.A. hoc
key. In the first match Exeter
trimmed their Hensall rivals 7-3
in a fairly exciting game but in
»the t second half Lucan ran
rough-shod over the Zurich sex
tet in what produced practically
everything but hockey.
Came From Behind
Exeter had to come from be-
from Hensall. Harold Nicholson
gave the visitors a one-goal lead
in the first period and before/
two minutes slipped by in the
second the Hensall winger had made it 2-0. 'From there on,
however, the scene soon
changed. In two. quick manoeu
vres, Musser tied the score on
beautiful teamwork plays. Coach
Shaw started both sorties assist
ed by Ryckman on the first and
Ross Tuckey on the second.
Towards the end of the middle
canto Lawson and Shaw had
given the home crew a 4-2 lead,-
In the third Shaw spanked the

Before the first ended they

Monday night, so don’t be sur
prised at what follows.
Anyway, to get started! In
Alleys 1 and 2, the Cellar Rats
and Butchers met. This week,
with the new handicaps, the
Butchers sort of took a beating.
Their team handicap is now 48
as compared with. 4.4-4 for the
Cellar Rats, They did manage,
though’ to take one game, plus the total score for three points,
and, "as any fool can plainly
see”, the remaining four points
went to the Cellar Rats. G. Mc-
Tavish managed a 212 game to
lead the Rats, with Gord Cud-
more running second with 202*

games registered. 4by the* men of

at any time this year. High men
for the Whizz Bangs was Lack

Walper had a couple of good
games of 228 and 216, For the
Pinpoppers, Bob Nicol ran wild
with scores of 226, 262 and 293.
Ray Wuerth again had one of
his good nights with a total of
608 (212), (Jake must have
had a quiet week-end),
For the two remaining teams,
the Hot Shots and Big Six, these
two teams seem to be back in
their old groove, with the Hot
Shots taking all the points. High

was 250, while Captain Harry
Holtzman took second honours
with 232. Aj Kelly was high
for the Big Six with 231, while
