Mrs. Swart’s Grade 1/2 class at
North Woods Elementary School
had some unique travel plans for the
eventuality of them having to get to
the North Pole.
“I would ride a magical reindeer
from Santa. I think I would borrow
Rudolph and put a saddle on him and
ride him all the way to the North
Pole.”
Mishca A. from Ethel.
“I would use a plane to get to the
North Pole. I would get my parents
to drive the plane. I think I would
get a parachute and jump out of the
plane because it would be fun.”
Nicole A. from Ethel.
“I would buy a sleigh and use a
reindeer that I would borrow from
the zoo to pull my sleigh to the
North Pole. They can fly just like
Santa’s reindeer, but they don’t
because they don’t want to live in the
North Pole.”
Evan C. from Ethel.
“I would use a bullet train if I had
to get to the North Pole. They go
really fast, like 300 miles per hour.
There is a bullet train in Japan that I
would use and shoot it to the North
Pole.”
Evan E. from Brussels.
“If I had to get to the North Pole, I
would get there with a sleigh with
two big dogs. Dogs can swim, so
they can get me across the water. My
dog would be too little to pull the
sled, so I’d have to borrow someone
else’s.”
Camryn L. from Brussels.
“I would take a bus from the bus
stop at my corner. I would play
computer games since it would take
the bus driver a long time to get
there.”
Hudson M. from Brussels.
“I would drive up to the North
Pole and get my Dad to do the
driving. I would pack a boat for
when the roads end and we had to go
in the water.”
Brett M. from Brussels.
“I would take a dog sled to the
North Pole. I would use my dog
Misha from home. She’s a half
golden retriever half lab I think, so
she would be able to do it.
Kiley N. from Brussels.
“I would take a snowmobile to the
North Pole. I don’t even have one,
but I know how to ride one. When I
got to the water I would just ride a
whale, or maybe a surf board, but I
don’t know how to ride them.
Sam O. from Brussels.
“I would take a train from a train
station somewhere if I had to get to
the North Pole. I would take somebooks to read on the way, like myFranklin books. They are myfavourite.”
Kaitlyn S. from Molesworth.
“I would just get on the roof and
get in Santa’s sleigh. I would hide in
the back underneath all the extra
presents.”
Ethan V. From Brussels.
“I would take a magic sled pulled
by a black lab. I would use my black
lab, Lady. She was named after Lady
in Lady and the Tramp.”
Chloe H. From Brussels.
“I would take a dog sled to the
North Pole, but I would use cats to
pull it. I would need like six cats, but
I only have three at home after
Charlie died. I miss her.”
Joe T. from Ethel.“I would get to the North Pole onan airplane. The person who drives
the plane would drive for me. I
would get on the plane at the little
house where you buy your ticket and
give it to the people before you get
on the plane.
Tamara T. from Brussels.
“I would take a helicopter to the
North Pole. I would go from the
airport place and get someone to
drive it from there.”
Jayse W. from Brussels.
“I would use Santa’s sleigh to get
to the North Pole. When he is on top
of my house, I would jump in and let
him take me there. Then I would use
an airplane to get home.”
Paige P. from Brussels.

Planes, trains and automobiles
Whether it was a aeronautically, underwater or through the simple magic of walking, students
in Mrs. Swart’s Grade 1/2 class at North Woods Elementary School had plenty of great ideas
for getting to the North Pole if they absolutely needed to. (Denny Scott photo)
