Mrs. VanWyk’s Grade 1 Class at
the Huron Christian School in
Clinton has some great memories of
Christmas despite only having six
holiday seasons under their belts.
“My favourite memory is how
Jesus got born in a donkey’s stable
instead of a hospital.”
Olivia D. from Exeter
“I like when we give presents
because we get and give toys and
because we get and give new stuff at
Christmas time.”
Abigail B. From Exeter.
“Last year for Christmas I went to
my Grandma’s house and everybody
I know was there getting together
and having fun and being with
everyone.”
Cassandra B. from Auburn.
“My favourite Christmas memory
was when I got presents and the lots
of surprises we can have at
Christmas time.”
Nicol C.
“My favourite Christmas memory
is Jesus’ birthday because I don’t
know any others.”
Allyson D. from Clinton.
“I like going to visit people at
Christmas like my grandparents,
aunts and uncles because we get to
open presents. I get to go
snowmobiling with my uncle and
they live in a faraway place with a
silly name.”
Ethan F. from Goderich.
“I like opening presents because
we get to get different things and I
like not going to school.”
Joel G. from the Seaforth area.
“I like going to my Opa’s and
going snowmobiling because we go
really fast for a long time and it’s
really fun.”
Michael H. from Goderich.
“I like decorating the Christmas
tree because it’s fun. Sometimes I
decorate with my family,
but sometimes I forget what
happens.”
Stella J. from Goderich.
“I like to hang my decorations on
my Christmas tree and around the
house and spend time with my
family. I like seeing my family.”
Sydney K. from Seaforth.
“My favourite memory of
Christmas is Jesus’ birthday because
I really like Jesus and because we all
get presents even though it’s Jesus’
birthday.”
Kaylyn M. from Clinton.
“I like to go sledding at Christmas
with my family because there are big
hills to go down because of the
snow!”
Anneliese N. from Exeter.
“My favourite memory of
Christmas was Jesus being born
because Jesus is important and
because he is God’s son.”
Liam S. from Walton.
“I like Christmas time because we
go to my Grandma’s house and open
presents. It’s my favourite memory
because I like going there.
Judah V. from Exeter.
“My favourite part of Christmas is
getting presents because I like
getting new stuff.”
Kyla V.
“I like getting presents. What’s
inside them is great, but I really like
opening presents. It’s fun.”
Jenelle V. from Exeter.
“My favourite Christmas memory
is from last year when there was a
big hill of dirt that got snow on it.
My brother John and I went down it
on a toboggan.”Kacey V. from Dungannon
“My favourite memory is that
Jesus got born because he’s a very
special person.”
Madison V. from Clinton.
“I like that I get presents because it
means I’m getting more clothes and
toys.”
Abigail W.
Liam S. and Sarah S. were absent
when the class answered the
question.
