Huron Christian students comb through memories Mrs. VanWyk’s Grade 1 Class at the Huron Christian School in Clinton has some great memories of Christmas despite only having six holiday seasons under their belts. “My favourite memory is how Jesus got born in a donkey’s stable instead of a hospital.” Olivia D. from Exeter “I like when we give presents because we get and give toys and because we get and give new stuff at Christmas time.” Abigail B. From Exeter. “Last year for Christmas I went to my Grandma’s house and everybody I know was there getting together and having fun and being with everyone.” Cassandra B. from Auburn. “My favourite Christmas memory was when I got presents and the lots of surprises we can have at Christmas time.” Nicol C. “My favourite Christmas memory is Jesus’ birthday because I don’t know any others.” Allyson D. from Clinton. “I like going to visit people at Christmas like my grandparents, aunts and uncles because we get to open presents. I get to go snowmobiling with my uncle and they live in a faraway place with a silly name.” Ethan F. from Goderich. “I like opening presents because we get to get different things and I like not going to school.” Joel G. from the Seaforth area. “I like going to my Opa’s and going snowmobiling because we go really fast for a long time and it’s really fun.” Michael H. from Goderich. “I like decorating the Christmas tree because it’s fun. Sometimes I decorate with my family, but sometimes I forget what happens.” Stella J. from Goderich. “I like to hang my decorations on my Christmas tree and around the house and spend time with my family. I like seeing my family.” Sydney K. from Seaforth. “My favourite memory of Christmas is Jesus’ birthday because I really like Jesus and because we all get presents even though it’s Jesus’ birthday.” Kaylyn M. from Clinton. “I like to go sledding at Christmas with my family because there are big hills to go down because of the snow!” Anneliese N. from Exeter. “My favourite memory of Christmas was Jesus being born because Jesus is important and because he is God’s son.” Liam S. from Walton. “I like Christmas time because we go to my Grandma’s house and open presents. What’s inside them is great, but I really like opening presents.
