Tours feature Blyth businesses, Wawanosh attractionsThe Huron County TourismAssociation’s annual brochure swap
was held at the Knights of Columbus
Centre in Wingham this year and,
according to CommunityDevelopment Co-ordinator ConnieGoodall, it was a huge success.“It went very well,” Goodall said.“We had over 100 people registered
and we received some very positive
feedback.”
A lot of positive feedbackrevolved around the toursparticipants were involved in.There were three tours; one inWingham that saw tourists visit the
CKNX radio station; one in East
Wawanosh featuring Hedley’s Trout
Farm and the Wawanosh Nature
Centre and one in Blyth saw tourists
visit a local music store,
Pianovations, Davara Studios and
take a tour of the Blyth Festival.
“We haven’t heard a bad word
about the event,” Goodall said.
“Even the weather turned out
fabulous.”
Goodall went on a tour of CKNX
as part of the event and said she
could understand the positive
feedback.
“If the other tours were anythinglike that, the groups must have beenfascinated,” she said. “I wasfascinated by my tour with [radiopersonality] John Weese and he was
great.”
The entire event was a great
opportunity for North Huron to show
off its unique artistic, cultural and
tourist-centred sides according to
Goodall.
“We really got to highlight
everything that was great about
North Huron,” she said. “A lot of
people said that the tours and seeing
the area were their favourite parts.”
Aside from touring local
businesses each participant also
received swag for attending
including a patio wine glass made by
Davara Studios which were wellreceived according to Goodall. The event is held annually and theWingham show was the 23rd itera-tion of it. The hosting municipality
rotates every year and the event is
held just prior to the typical opening
of the tourism season in mid-April
every year.
The event was last held in North
Huron in 2007 when it was hosted in
Blyth.

Thoughtful, sleepless, loving care
(J.R. Miller, “Weekday Religion” 1880)
There is no comfort like the fact of God’s infinite, unchanging and eternal love for us!
If we can but get this truth into our minds and hearts--it will sustain us in every trial. All
the universe is under God’s personal sway, and He is our tenderest and dearest Friend,
carrying each one of us close in His heart.
Providence is not merely the outworking of a mechanical system, or the beneficent
operation of wise and good laws. It is rather--the thoughtful, sleepless, loving care of
our Heavenly Father!
“The Lord who created you says: Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have
called you by name; you are Mine! When you go through deep waters and great trouble-
-I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty--you will not drown! When
you walk through the fire of oppression--you will not be burned up; the flames will not
consume you. For I am the Lord, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Saviour!”

Greeting worshippers at Blyth
United Church on Sunday, April 22
were Fred Hakkers and Marilyn
Craig. Ushering were Bryce and
Brett Glousher, Jason and Emily
Meier, Wanita Bibok and Brenda
Brooks. Floyd Herman was music
director and Fred Hakkers ran the
power point. Rev. Clark drew
everyone’s attention to the
announcements printed in the
bulletin with special mention that
next Sunday will be Baptism
Sunday and UCW is preparing
lunch for after church. The ladies
will be making the last meat pies
until fall – turkey on April 25 and
beef on May 2. Call Joanne
MacDonald if you wish to order.
The call to worship “Come All
You People” was sung followed by
the prayer of approach. The children
were asked to come to the front for
their story time. Rev. Clark
explained to them what the kneeling
bench at the front was for. After
repeating a prayer along with the
congregation the children could go
back to their seats or they could go
downstairs for a time of fellowship.
The new creed was repeated and
those people joining the church
were asked to come forward. They
were Bryce and Brett Glousher,
Jason and Emily Meier and Wanita
Students work on 3D art
By Phaedra Scott
Students in Grade 6/7 and 7/8
finished up their 3D Gear art this
week. Who knew that gears could be
such an inspiration?
Grade 8 students are hard at work
creating their yearbook. If you have
any cute/funny/interesting pictures
of our graduating class let a Grade 8
student know.
Grade 6 science students continue
to build their understanding of
electricity. They can make lights go
on and off, make door bells ring and
they have built successful
electromagnets.
In Grade 7 math, students are
working hard on the understanding
of algebraic expressions and
equations. The Grade 6 and Grade 8
students worked together on
showing their work, which has been
an ongoing struggle in both classes.
The Grade 6/7 class has been
making inventions out of pasta,
candy and cones and then writing
persuasive advertisements for
people to buy them. But instead of
focusing on the language aspect of
it, all the students really want to do
is eat their projects.
Community members are
encouraged to contact Nancy Roe at
the school if they have school
memorabilia to share. Pictures and
articles will be scanned and larger
