Gantin’s. letter of July 8, re St. Joseph lots. The following motions were then passed; That application be made to the Department of Highways for initial payment of the 1946 road subsidy; that Henry Lawrence be paid his account on the Tuckey Drain upon T. R. Patterson’s ap- proval; that the budget for the year 1946 be adopted and that the rates be confirmed by by-law, Clerk to proceed to complete the 1946 collector’s roll; that the telephone account, re 'Sproul© Currie be for­ warded and that it be paid by Aug. 20, 1946, or telephone service be discontinued; that the letter as re­ ceived from Vernon Scats regarding the trimming of his ornamental shade trees be filed; that approval from the Department of highways be obtained to further subsidize th© Hay Township road expenditure to the amount of $10,0'00 for 1946; that the Reeve, William Haugh, be appointed to represent Hay Town­ ship on the 'Aux Saubles River con­ servation Authority meeting to be" held in Parkhill August 14, and at all subsequent meetings, appoint­ ment to be confirmed by by-law; that the account from the Tucker­ smith Telephone System for mov­ ing telephone lines on the 2nd con­ cession of Hay Township for $9.30 be filed until contract with said system is referred to; that upon motions passed by the Police Trus­ tees of the Villages of Dashwood and Zurich, the following rates be levied for' the respective villages for 1946, as follows: For Zurich, 10 mills and Dashwood 15 mills. That the Engineer’s report on the Logan Drain as received from the Clerk of Stanley on June 23, 1945, and considered at a special meet­ ing on July 7, 1945, be adopted and that the Clerk be authorized to have sufficient by-laws printed and served on all assessed persons, court of revision to be held on Sept. 3, 1946, at 3 p.m., in the Township Hall, Zurich. That ac­ counts for Hay Township, roads, relief, Hay Municipal Telephone System and Hay Township general accounts be paid as per voucher. The Township Roads accounts amounted to $5,982.97, the main items being $3,569.44 to William Jennison and $1,608.05 to Ti’eas. Hay Township, drains.
