They at tended the Bierling-Schenk wed ding. Rev. C, L. Langford, Mrs. Langford and Doris were at Midland, for the week-end. Mr. Langfoi'd officiated at the wed ding of John McBride and Dorothy Smith at St. Mark's Church, Midland. st. Petrolia Puts Out Hensail Juveniles Hensail juveniles were ousted from play-off competition by a high-flying Petrolia nine in two games last week. The oilers did not allow any runs to cross home plate in the series. Wed nesday night, they look the Hensail squad 20-0 with twelve hits, some walks and errors, on the loser's home diamond. Arnld pitched the shutout, three-hit ball, and O’Brien was the loser. In Petrolia on Saturday, it was a seven inning 17-0 affair. Anderson was the winner and Watson and Mickle shared the loss. O’Brien came through with a triple for Hensall's best hit of the series, but he was unable to score. William Winer Buried From Trivitt Church William Edward Winer died at. the home of his son-in-law, Dr, A. D. C. McLagan, Preston on Sunday, September 19. He was in his eighty-first year. Mr. and Mrs. Winer were visit ing at Preston for a week. Mr Winer was born in Steph en Township in 1868 and in February 189 8 married Susan England. They farmed in Steph en before retiring to town twenty-one years ago. On Feb ruary of this year Mr. and Mrs. Winer celebrated their Golden wedding anniversary. .
